We are excited to be bringing many of the best, hard-to-find, high-quality micro-production wineries
We are excited to be bringing many of the best, hard-to-find, high-quality micro-production wineries from all over California to the Santa Ynez Valley for The 5th Annual Garagiste Festival: Southern Exposure.
The majority of our wineries do not have tasting rooms, and their wines can be very hard to find on store shelves. We make it easy for you to find a world of new wine discoveries all under one roof.
As with all Garagiste events, only the winemakers and/or owners (often the same person) will be pouring the wines. Come meet the artists who are making some of the most exciting and innovative wines in the world.
Over 40 wineries and 200 wines to taste all in ONE place.
Winery participants include: Artisan Uprising, Ascension Cellars, Bevela Wines, Bradley Family Wines, Brian Benson Cellars, Camlow Cellars, Carivintas, Carter Paul Wines, Casa Dumetz Wines, Central Coast Group Project, Cholame Vineyards, Cloak & Dagger Wines, Clos des Amis, Coda Wines, Comartin Cellars, Cordon Wines, Dascomb Cellars, El Lugar Wines, Frequency Wine Co., Golden Triangle, Iter Wines, Jalopy Wine Company, Jamie Slone Wines, JP3 Wines, Kaleidos Winery, Larner Vineyards, Levo Wines, Mallea Wines, Mattina Fiore, McKinney Family Vineyards, MCV Wines, Metrick Wines, Mollie Wines, Montemar Winery, Ryan Cochrane Wines, Seagrape Wine Co, Serrano Wines, Skyenna Wines, Tercero Wines, Turiya Wines, Weatherborne, West of Temperance.
All Events at The Veterans' Memorial Hall. 1745 Mission Drive, Solvang, CA
FRIDAY MARCH 31st - 6:30-9:00pm
"RARE & RESERVE" KICK-OFF Party: Get up close and personal with the winemakers as they share wines you won’t get to try anywhere else this weekend…and few other people get to try at all! This evening will showcase extremely limited Club Only, Library and Pre-Release bottles – perhaps even some barrel samples – that truly showcase what micro-production winemaking is all about. This event is like digging for diamonds with an earth mover. You are guaranteed to find more than a few gems! A Texas-Style BBQ buffet is also included in the fun.
SATURDAY APRIL 1st - Please note different starting times below...
The day begins with one of the most popular features of the Garagiste Festivals, its engaging, educational and unique winemaker panel and tasting seminars.
SATURDAY SEMINARS - Start at 11:00am. Both Seminars are included and only available with a Weekend Pass or VIP All Day Ticket. This tickets also include a box lunch and extra hour of tasting.
#1: “What’s Wrong With This Picture? Educate Your Palate About the Most Common Wine Flaws”
It might be April Fool’s Day but this seminar is no joke. There’s nothing worse than being disappointed by a bad bottle of great wine. Winemaking may be a science, but there are many pitfalls that can befall a wine on the way into the bottle. This seminar will explain the most common flaws and allow you to taste them firsthand so you are no longer left in the dark and on the hook. We know it won’t be pleasant (so we’re keeping it short), but it is extremely educational. A unique experience for all wine lovers!
#2: "An Exploration of Grenache: Not Just for Blending Anymore"
Grenache is one of the most widely planted red grapes in the world, but outside of Chateauneuf-des-Papes it has yet to grab the world stage as a premiere player. We think this is about to change. Santa Barbara is a hot-bed of single vineyard grenache bottlings and we’re going to compare and contrast the wines from various SBC vineyards from three up-and-coming winemakers who are helping bring this varietal to the front of the California Rhone pack.
Featured Panelists: Sonja Magdevski (Casa Dumetz), Zac Wasserman (Frequency Wines) and Cris Carter (Weatherborne).
SATURDAY EVENT SCHEDULE:
VIP TASTING SEMINARS - From 11:00am-12:30pm (includes Early Access to Grand Tasting)
EARLY ACCESS: From 1:00pm-5:00pm
GRAND TASTING: From 2:00pm-5:00pm
