Favorite College Hangout , 10/3/2014
Reviewer: Matt from Santa Barbara, CA
I found this place while studying at UCSB, and it quickly became my favorite place to hangout and study. Lots of room, good prices for a bagel and coffee, and the friendly (not to mention cute) girls working there had me sold. I still try to come in whenever I'm in town.

Re: previous comment. Nothing has changed. How does this place stay in business?

Too many people come in, sit for hours using free wi-fi, and don't order anything. Some even bring in food from outside. This is a health code violation. They should be asked if they would like to order and/or be informed that tables are for customers only.

Good atmosphere, but overpriced
Reviewer: Wil from Santa Barbara, CA
Really comfortable atmosphere, a good place to study or just sit with a cup of coffee. Food is pretty good, but it's really pricey. Over $8 for a burrito? Good tasting burrito no doubt, but not eight dollars good. Other than that, wide selection of coffee, drinks, and food. The prices hurt, but I'll come by now and again.

Not paying attention
Reviewer: Jason from Santa Barbara, CA
Ive been 3 times in the past 7 days and twice they 'forgot' to make my drink (while I am standing there fumbling through a paper). The third time they made the drink but it was wrong. All the while they were yapping with friends on both sides of the counter. Seems they aren't really focused on business there.

Great independent coffee shop

A great comfortable place to sit back relax, and enjoy a good cup of coffee. employees were very helpful and friendly.

Nice open place, terrible music
Reviewer: Billy from Santa Barbara, CA
Ive been going for years to do work, catch up on emails, read and such. The music is terrible, its always the same station (some sort of xradio on 80-90s love songs) turned up loud through the whole place. You can't hide it with ear plugs. Makes it hard to concentrate. Its a great spot, but I just wish it was more comfortable to be there.

Fun, comfy ambience

I'm a regular because I love that feeling of neighborhood warmth, unlike Starbucks where I feel like I'm in a noisy, rather sterile machine. My experience with service is that there are brief flurries when things might take a little longer, but there are many things to look at (license plates, cards, signs, community bulletin board, etc.) while waiting. And the staff is consistently not simply polite, but genuinely glad to see you.

Really?
Reviewer: Allen from Santa Barbara, CA
I used to come here, but I can't stomach the owner anymore. Service is fine on an average day, but catch the owner on a bad day and watch out! She can be extremely rude, and I've seen her screaming at employees more than once.

BEST CHOCOLATE CROISSANTS....EVER !!
Reviewer: LJ from northern California
My husband and I were visiting our son at UCSB and found this place hidden in a small shopping plaza. The coffee was very good, but we couldn't get enough of their chocolate croissants . They were made of the best quality ingredients. Each croissant weighed about 20 pounds - slightly exaggerating ;) , and we would share one, due to the richness and how filling they are. My son now stops there to pick some up for us before he comes home (northern Cal) . We also bought a long sleeve Goletta coffee company T-Shirt and it fits our 6'5" son. Most shirts are too short for him, but these fit perfectly

Great coffee and Oatmeal cookies!
Reviewer: Andrea from Santa Barbara, CA
The first time I walk into this place and I get the vibe of a very laid back environment. Definitely agree with the unpretentious comment below. Pay a bit more than $2 and get ALL YOU CAN DRINK coffee. Not only is that great, but they also have about 6 different kinds of coffee where you can choose from! Most definitely recommended. P.S. if you are an oatmeal cookie fan you cannot skip their big oatmeal cookies from this place. Fresh, soft/crunchy enough. A must!

Longterm local cafe
Reviewer: Rich Kaplanovitchsky from Santa Barbara, CA
I get coffee here often. It's just a great place to hang out. Very relaxed, a fire place in back. This is for locals and is pretty darn unpretentious. You want to study or chat or meet a friend -- this is the place for you. The help is always friendly and the owner is sure to be around. Thanks Goleta Coffee for not being a corporate chain.
