Forget about Pizza Hut, Dominos, Papa John's, or any chain pizza place, Uncle Rocco's is the real deal. I love going to Uncle Rocco's New York Pizza, and I'm from Redondo Beach. I wish there was a more local restaurant, but it's worth the drive!

I love pizza and have yet to find one as good As URNYPizza. The pizza here has a real flavor that you just don't find at other places. So, I drive up from Simi Valley which is about and hour and fifteen minute drive or take the train up and always stop in for lunch. Pizza, salad which both are always fresh and great. Thanks for running a 5 star restaurant.

I went to Rocco's on the 4th of July because it was one of the only restaurants that wasn't packed. The pizza is excellent with big slices and served hot. The crust was thin and just how I like it and the sauce was good. Also, even though it was fairly busy, the service was good. I'll give the guy who i assume was the owner a 5 because he was the only one taking orders and running the bar and doing a good job. I wouldn't hesitate to eat there again and recommended it for someone looking for a good slice.

Best NY Pizza in Southern CA

Uncle Rocco's pizza is the best NY pizza in the Southern CA area. We were there this past weekend and it remains consistent in its quality and taste. I highly recommend it for any true pizza snob. We really love the plain cheese pizza. It lets the perfect sauce shine and you get the full flavor of the crust which is also done to perfection. We have followed Uncle Rocco's from Simi Valley to it's home in Santa Barbara and eat there when ever we are in the area. We have even picked it up to go and have taken it camping! We introduced our 13 year old grandson to Uncle Rocco's pizza this past weekend and he loved every bite. Uncle Rocco's presents a NY experience in Santa Barbara. It is a little hole in the wall that houses the best kept secret in Santa Barbara...fabulous pizza and good beer on tap. All in all, it is a great place for exceptional pizza.

I think you are getting confused between a NY style and other styles of pizza. NY style is not about the toppings but more the crust/cheese/sauce and monster size slice and this place was good for me in that respect. A topping oriented pizza(like most the ones mentioned below) is a different beast(I grew up on Rustys too and like it also!). Try Paesano's for another NY style one I like. If its not your cup of tea, well, then foggetta about it!

Couldn't agree more with the review. I myself have wondered who these crazy people are who think Uncle Rocco's is anything better than mediocre late night drunk stoner food with a side of really bad service.

UM, what the hell is everyone talking about. Uncle Roccos is, AT BEST, mediocre. This isnt even top 5 pizza places in Santa Barbara, not to mention best in CA! I think Uncle Rocco is rating his own food because if you have ever eaten there, those rave reviews just make no sense at all. Choose anything else.. PIZZA MIZZA, PIZZA GURU, RUDYS MEAT & POTATOS, RUSTYS, GIOVANNIS. Id rather order Dominos. Poor ingredients, terrible dough sauce cheese ratio. Its just bad

Being a native New Yorker one thing we know is good pizza. Uncle Roccos is as authentic as it gets. Its a real slice of home. Will definitely come back.

I love the pizza. It was great. I am gonna order a large pie to bring home with me to Sacramento. The pizza in the San Joaquin Valley is inedible. I am gonna bring a slice of pizza with me for lunch every day and let my California friends have "pizza envy." Only one issue with the restaurant.... The mural of the Brooklyn Bridge from Brooklyn to Manhatten - totally wrong... the World Trade Center was on the wrong side of the bridge... It was printed backwards.

Im from the netherlands and I have been for one year in Santa Barbara. I can tell, uncle roccos really IS the best! I never fount anything simulair over here! Gonna come back just to eat pizza peperoni!!:D

The pizza there was really good. Definitely the NY style which is a huge slice that warrants folding over. I don't know exactly what they do with their pizza crusts, they have a lot sitting there with sauce waiting for topping orders, you would think they would make it as needed? Don't know how that works but the pizza I had was good. Nice NY ambience to the place. Credit card 50c fee if under 20 and they have an ATM there too. Help was nice.
