Not as good as it used to be
Reviewer: Tracy

I've been eating at the different Rudy's locations around town for 20 years and recently they seem to have gone downhill. Prices have increased, items offered have decreased in quantity and flavor and every time, they get something wrong with my order.
The nachos are seriously lacking and the beans and rice frequently taste burned and dry, whether in a burrito or as a side.

Great Food But Phone Service Needs Help
Reviewer: Amanda
from Santa Barbara, CA
I love Rudy's food and get lunch here at least once a week but because of my work situation I can't eat at the restaurant and I always need to call ahead and order my food. I understand that this location gets busy but I almost always get hung up on when I call before anybody even says anything! I understand if they are busy and trying to help other customers but at least put me on hold instead of hanging up on me, that is horrible customer service!

Chimichangas as big as a new born baby!

What more can I say? But let me tell you, Rudy feeds you very well. I had the Torta Cubana and it didn't disappoint. Mounds of shredded pork, beans, ham, guac and cheese in between a nice, soft roll. One pal had the chimichanga...it was humongous and he said it was the best he ever had. Other pal had the tried and true crunchy taco and taquitos guacamole. The plates of food are still the same great quality as they always have been with nominal price increases. GOOD STUFF. Thanks Rudy!!!

I've loved Rudy's for years...

But this is my favorite location. They include chips with every order which is a real improvement on the Paseo location and everything is smothered in cheese. I love the cheese enchilada, chicken taco combo. Their salsa is delicious. Nachos are also delicious!

Good Food/Service
Reviewer: Glenn
from Buellton
The food is good along with the service. Large portions though it was not cheap. This place, apparently the first Rudys started in the 60s, is a bit old. Kind of musty in the air of old things smell, maybe get it to go, plus the neighborhood can have transients in it(its next to the Fig Tree). Nice Server.

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME--WAY BETTER THAN SUPER RICA
Reviewer: Brian
from Santa Barbara, CA
Everything on the menu is delicious! I have tried nearly every item and cannot stop going back for more! Hands down best salsa bar in town (6 or 7 different kinds). They always hook it up w/ chips, usually have good music playing and it is a cool decorated environment. Much better than the picture displayed here, looks way different. My favorite items as of now would have to be the crunchy tacos (only thing around here that comes ANYWHERE close to Tito's Tacos in Culver City)and the tamales.

The original Rudy's is the best

This place has some of the best Mexican food in Santa Barbara. The Rudy's burger is also very good. I live in the area and eat here often. The staff does a great job considering the huge amount of business they do. Keep up the good work

Rudy...What happened??
Reviewer: Mike
from Santa Barbara
What happened to your once delicious tacos with fresh, shredded beef and mounds of cheese? What I got was a barely edible pile of greasy meat and ingredients that were slopped together and thrown into a taco shell. Time for you to come visit again and be sure that your quality is up to par. The guy aggressively sweeping all the dust and food on the floor while people are dining didn't add much to the experience either. Nasty. This location is off my list.
