I am too old for a child size portion? WHAT???????????
Reviewer: Monica from Goleta, CA
I wanted a child size vanilla ice cream to go--and the woman would NOT sell it to me since I was an adult???????? What? Is this even legal? What is it about America that we MUST push bigger portions on people--am I not allowed to have the size I will actually eat? Must I take a bigger size and waste some? ONLY IN AMERICA, I tell you. I think it is really lame and I will NEVER go to McConnell's in Goleta again. I think people should be allowed to buy the portion they want. I was not being CHEAP --it was the size I would EAT...Why must I buy a bigger size because of my AGE?

It's sure not the Mission Street McConnells
Reviewer: Sandy from Santa Barbara, CA
I agree with Tabitha too. The portions size of the Wow Cow is dinky compared to Mission St, and they only serve Vanilla and Chocolate flavors, (compard to the 10 flavors available at Mission). The service was OK - but why bother. Drive to Mission and De La Vina. Look for a parking place and dig in.

Ok place a little pricey, ice cream could be colder
Reviewer: Glenn from Buellton
Ice cream not bad. They are probably catering to the movie crowd and can get away with higher prices/smaller servings. Ice cream could be a little colder/harder. $5 credit card minimum.

Good ice cream, terrible frozen yogurt
Reviewer: Jules from goleta
This place has the best mint chip and chocolate ice cream ever. The vanilla frozen yogurt is another story; I have no idea what it was made of but it was dry, airy, crunchy, and tasted like fake cookie dough. I threw it away after one bite. Service at this store doesn't really matter, but the people who work there appear to be half asleep whenever I go there. The frozen yogurt at the downtown location is pretty good though. The vanilla still has a weird flavor, but the textures and flavors of the chocolate and cookies & cream are excellent. Downtown is also ALOT more generous with their frozen yogurt servings. Also, unlike at the Goleta location, the girls who work at the downtown location are efficient, patient, and seem to enjoy working there.

Not the Mission location
Reviewer: Scott from Santa Barbara, CA
Completely agree with Tabitha's comments. The portions are shockingly small. A small cone doesn't even carry the same quantity as those little ones at McDonald's, yet costs over three bucks. The boy behind the counter also refused to honor our discount card, claiming that the order had already been "entered" into the cash register. Um, cancel out? He was most unhelpful. Won't be returning to this location. The Mission McConnells is far superior, and closer to what a real ice cream shop should be.

CHEAP!!!
Reviewer: Tabitha from Isla Vista
There is no doubt that the ice cream is high quality good ice cream, the service however is terrible. The policy at the Goleta McConnells is "lets give incredibly stingy portions to our customers and charge them an arm and a leg and hope that they will still come back for more!" This McConnells is a sad joke in comparison to the McConnells on Mission who offer radically generous portions. I left the Goleta McConnells pissed off because I actually spent money on a dollop of wow cow. The Goleta McConnells is so mingy with their portions, that we are willing to drive the extra 9 miles to the McConnells on Mission so that we can get pounds of wow cow instead of teaspoons.

Best Ice Cream in Town
Reviewer: Megan from Santa Barbara
I love McConnells ice cream! It's so creamy and fresh. My favorite are their Seasonal flavors, specifically Russian Nesselrode which is as close to "frozen Pudding" as you can get for all you east coasters. I guess it's also called tutti frutti some places (cream base with candied fruit and nuts) but I still haven't found anywhere else that sells it. Thanks McConnells!

THE BEST DESSERTS AND ICE CREAM I'VE EVER TASTED
Reviewer: JERRY FISHER from NEW YORK, N.Y.
OH MY GOD. THIS ICE CREAM IS THE BEST I'VE EVER TASTED.BETTER THAN THE ICE CREAM IN THE BIG APPLE. WE WENT TO THE CAMINO REAL MOVIE AND RIGHT NEXT DOOR WE WERE DELIGHTED TO FIND MC CONNELLS. WE WERE IN A HURRY AND FOUND THE SERVICE TO BE EXTRODINARY. IT WAS HARD TO DECIDE ON WHICH OF THE OVER 30 FLAVORS TO CHOOSE AND YOU WOULD TOO!!!! I PICKED THE TURKISH COFFEE. I HAVE NEVER HAD ICE CREAM THIS RICH AND TASTY. MY TASTEBUDS WERE DANCING AS I LICKED THE WAFFLE CONE. I PERSONNALY DO NOT NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT. BUT MY WIFE PICKED THE FAT FREE FROZEN YOGURT WHICH ONLY HAD 45 CALORIES. SHE GAVE ME A TASTE AND I WAS AMAZED THAT THIS PEANUT BUTTER FROZEN YOGURT WAS SO LOW IN CALORIES. MY FRIENDS PURCHASED SOME CANDY WHICH WAS EQUALLY DELICIOUS AND THEY SAVED SOME MONEY FROM BUYING CANDY IN THE MOVIE THEATRE. I GUESS BY KNOW YOU ARE READY TO RUSH IN AND ORDER A WONDERFUL TREAT.
