Had a nice lunch...
Reviewer: Tina from Carpinteria, CA
And I would go again. The chips were just okay but I liked the salsas. I had a combo plate with a shredded beef taco and a chile relleno. The taco, rice and beans were all excellent. The chile relleno was just okay. Kinda tasted like it had been frozen at one time. My husband had a carnitas plate and he really liked everything. He said he would definitely eat it again. I too would go back but I would order something else besides the chile relleno. Service was pleasant. Atmosphere was fine. Place seemed clean and all that.

Just Ok Mexican food

You are better off going elsewhere for Mexican, in Old Town Goleta I would suggest Yoli's close by for authentic or drive to Camino Marketplace area for New Baja Grill.

Who are they kidding here?

Just came back from lunch at this place and I will not be returning ever again. The restaurant itself is beautiful and feels like a real cantina, but had major issues with the food, the service and the prices. My girlfriend loves the enjitomatadas from the El Rincon Bohemio in El Mercado down Hollister/Sate St. a couple of miles so, after checking out one of our favorite thrift/antique shops next door, we stopped in for lunch as she was craving enjitomatadas, which are tortillas, filled or not, in a tomato/cinnamon sauce. They were listed on the menu, which is the same menu as at their other location, but when they came out they were just normal enchiladas. We asked the waitress who simply replied they donít make that sauce anymore. Well, thanks for telling us that when we ordered it. She made no offer for a replacement or a price reduction as regular enchiladas are on the lunch menu for like five bucks less. Not only did she charge us the full price for something they no longer serve, but she noticed she charged us fifty cents less than what the menu listed ($11.50 v. $11.95) and then recalculated our bill. I had the pozole, one of my favorite things ever, but it was not the pozole I am used to; it was made from beef. It wasn't bad, but again there was a price discrepancy, $6.95 on the menu and $7.95 on the bill. This was explained as a price increase they forgot to change on the menu. I wasn't going to make a scene over five dollars but will certainly never go back again.

Good, Tasty

Pretty good place to stop and eat. Got the carne asada burrito wet with enchilada sauce, meat was a little more chewy than i would like but a good large burrito. 2 different salsa's but they were nothing special. Good service, not too busy.
