A Wonderful Family Experience, 7/11/2010
Reviewer: Amy from Santa Barbara, CA
This was my first trip to Yogurtland and I am very pleased. There were so many flavors to choose from. Fortunately, my children were able to taste as many as they wanted (using a new tasting cup each time, of course) so that they ended up with their favorite flavors. The best part, however, was the low price. Wow! I couldn't believe that four big cups of yogurt with toppings came to $10.00. We will definitely return.

Went in to try the yuzu flavor, got that and coconut. YUM. There WAS a line, but it's not yogurtland's fault. And it's not the line itself that's annoying. I mean, you're entertained the whole way, basically, by choosing toppings etc. It's the fact that all the people in the line seem completely lost and confused! And they don't seem to understand that if they're still deciding, they can let somebody who's done go ahead of them and just pay and leave! BUT I loooved that the register girl reminded everybody not to reuse their sample cups. Hordes of confused lost people aren't known for making sanitary decisions without being instructed =/

Great yogurt!, 3/20/2010

I just went to Yogurtland a few nights ago, and their new red velvet cake flavor is awesome! It takes just like red velvet should! The toppings are always great and I love that they are a bit cheaper than the other yogurt places! Definitely worth the hassle of going downtown!

Go To Yogurtland!!!!, 10/30/2009
Reviewer: Santa Barbara Dianne from Santa Barbara, CA
Go to Yogurtland for a yummy and exciting adventure. Don't let the long lines scare you away, it is all worth the wait. My favorite combo is chocolate & coconut yogurt with a sprinkling of chopped almonds, chocolate chips and coconut--think "Almond Joy". YUMYUMYUM!!

GREAT!, 10/21/2009

I LOVE YOGURTLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do you rate service when there is no service?, 10/6/2009
Reviewer: Lauren from Santa Barbara, CA
Basically the only interaction you have (or should have) with their staff is at the register. A tip jar- really?!? What sets it apart is you can have as many flavors of ice cream and toppings as you would like, and it is still relatively inexpensive. But that being said, the ice cream itself is not that spectacular. Ice cream alone I would prefer just about any other ice cream place in town (which is why I gave it a 3.5, which is probably generous). And why rate toppings when reese's pieces are reese's pieces?

what happened to the reese's?, 9/6/2009
Reviewer: Carla from Santa Barbara, CA
They used to have Reese's peanut butter cups, which made this place awesome. Now they just have Reese's Pieces, which are not that good, which makes this place just good.

Eaten here over 12 times already!!!, 9/6/2009

I have been to Yogurtland with my girlfriend over a dozen times since there opening in May this year. Pretty much every single time the yogurt is amazing and fresh, and I always get exactly what I want because I served it! To some people this is a turn off, however I disagree! Unless you don't know how to pour yourself a yogurt or if you are unsanitary, then serving yourself shouldn't be a problem... The toppings are also fresh and rarely out, they seem very well-staffed and well-run. The only thing I dislike is the corperate feel and the huge crowds, but the crowds are an indicator that the food is good and fairly priced!

Best fro-yo in SB
Reviewer: Ally from Santa Barbara, CA
I've tried most of the yogurt in Santa Barbara and Goleta area and Yogurtland has got to be the best. They have the best flavors and perfect texture. They are also one of the cheapest. I love the fact i can choose how much toppings i can put on my yogurt. I will never venture over to Rockin' Yogurt or Pinkberry ever again.

Usually satisfied, but not tonight
Reviewer: Christine S. from Santa Barbara, CA
While I am definitely a fan of Yogurtland and love that it's inexpensive, has a great selection and is within walking distance of my place, I was very displeased tonight. My boyfriend and I were looking forward to a late-nite treat, so we got to Yogurtland around 10:30, a good half-hour before closing. A woman and her daughter were trying to unsuccessfully fill their cups. We weren't sure what the problem was until we noticed that several of the machines were turned off and many had been pulled away from their counters. When we asked what was up, the guy behind the machines said only the front few were "working" (AKA still turned on). Unfortunately, that meant the flavors we wanted were not available. Finally the guy came out front and turned some of the machines back on, but then proceeded to push other machines back from their counters!!! I'm not sure what was up with the night manager or if he/she just wasn't paying attention, but this is really not cool. You don't start closing until you are CLOSED. Especially if people are visibly still trying to serve themselves. I'm sorry if that guy really wanted to get off work in a dash, but that's his problem, not the customers'. Like I said, while I really enjoy this place, I'm guessing my boyfriend and I will change allegiances for awhile until tonight's bad taste is out of our mouths : (

Great product, annoying lines
Reviewer: JB from Santa Barbara, CA
I wont bother to repeat all the great things about this place. They are all correct. I have been here many times. However, the lines are so long and slow it is irritating. Generally they have only one cash register going and this tends to cause the line to move even more slowly because people get backed up and can not make their topping selections (which can take some time indeed). The registers should be moved to the very end of the counter to give customers more room and to keep the line moving.

Fabulous!
Reviewer: Claire from Santa Barbara, CA
I went for the first time while i was shopping with friends, I was instantly impressed! I've been to Pinkberry and YoYumYum and neither of these could top Yogurtland. I'm in love with the cute setting and decoration AND the yogurt! I'm even going there tonight! :)

Will Go Back.
Reviewer: Mindy from Santa Barbara, CA
Loved this place. Line was long, but moved quickly. Not sure what the bad customer service ratings are all about. The girls working when I was in were friendly, smiley and efficient enough to keep the long line going smoothly. There were some kids running back and forth tasting each flavor multiple times and that slowed things down. An employee reigned them in when the parents failed to. I tried green tea and dutch chocolate, hubby tried dutch choc and peanut butter. All were subtle and the chocolate was really chocolately. My green tea could have been a bit green tea-ier. It was a bit too subtle for me, but I'd try it again for sure. Toppings were okay (we didn't opt for any) but a bit picked over for only 2 p.m. Excellent value for a treat. Much cheaper than ice cream; it was about $5.25 for two of us. What's not to love?

So good!
Reviewer: Amanda from Santa Barbara, CA
I tried Yougurtland for the first time last night. I can't stand tart flavored yogurt so I was really excited that they have a mixture of tart and non-tart flavors. I had 5 flavors and about 4 toppings and the whole thing only cost me $4.75. Everything was very fresh, they have a great selection of fruit, nuts, candy and cereal for toppings.

Been there 5 times since it opened - best yogt place by far!
Reviewer: Sam from Santa Barbara, CA
Ok so anyone who frequents downtown know that in the last 8 months, there has been some serious frozen yogurt competition cultivating on State. We have the infamous PinkBerry, Red Mango, and Live Culture in addition to the two other yogurt (Rockin Yogurt) places that already existed. So why is Yogurtland the best? First is the variety - they have more flavors then the three PinkBerry has and way more toppings. Its all done by weight and you get to decide how much you want of either yogurt of toppings. Second is price - you can't get out of Live Culture, PB, Red Mango or Rockin Yogurt without paying at least 4.75 for a small + 1 topping if not more. Yogurtland is half the price for the same amount as the others. If you just want a little taste 1.50 will get you something decent. Yogurtland has both the tart yogurts you find at Pink Berry and Rockin Yogurt and the traditional frozen yogurts found at Live Culture (more like soft serve Ice Cream). Service is quick and you can taste as much as you want if you ask so no problem there. Only drawback in the horrible decor of the inside...was this designed to get people out of there as quick as possible? It's kind of an eyesore....

loved the yogurt bettter than pink berry but rude emloyees!!
Reviewer: karla from Santa Barbara, CA
sooo PINKBERRY was my favorite EVERRR!! then i tried yougurtland and i LOOOOOVEDD IT!! its sooooo gooood! i loved it! except that the cashier people were not very friendly! pinkberry defenetly has better customer service!!...just my opinion & experience...but im taking the little brother again in a couple of minutes!! :) i fell in love w/ yogurtland!!

Great Value
Reviewer: Nick from Santa Barbara, CA
My first experience with Yogurtland was in LA and I was happy to see the one on State street last week. I love the way that everything is self serve. Rockin' Yogurt across the street is of a higher quality, but more expensive. I like being able to pick and choose my flavors and portion size. To the person who wanted to sample everything, there are signs that clearly tell you how many samples you are allowed. Some of the flavors are a bit "out there" (like root beer, which I thought was gross) so maybe, after reading the signs, you should have chosen samples more wisely for your child. Limiting the samples keeps the line moving and keeps everything more sanitary too.

Will not go back...
Reviewer: Kasey from Santa Barbara, CA
Finally visited the every famous Yogurtland and have to admit that it was very disappointing. My 7 year old wanted to try different flavors (with their tiny taster cups) to see which one she liked and was stopped after 2 by an employee. They had at least 12 flavors and she was only allowed to try 2. Out of the 2 she tried she disliked both. This is really disappointing because the yogurts I WAS able to try were also "gross" to put it blunt. I snuck my daughter another taste of the plain and she enjoyed it. They had a lot of toppings and they were cheaper than Pinkberry and Red Mango. But Pinkberry and Red Mango have a much higher quality of yogurt. So if you know what you like and don't need to try anything maybe this is the place for you. If you need to taste before purchasing .... good luck to you. I then walked to Pinkberry (1 block north)and purchased their pomegranate with 3 toppings included. YUM.

Greatest place!!
Reviewer: Fred from Santa Barbara, CA
We have tried them all, from Carp to IV, and this one is the best!! Friendly service and a wide variety of yogurt and toppings. Best part is the price.

Best Frozen Yogurt in SB--Much better than Pinkberry
Reviewer: Sarah from Santa Barbara, CA
LOVE the new Yogurtland in Santa Barbara. Yogurtland is much better than Pinkberry and is much cheaper too! I would recommend rearranging the set-up as the lines can get a little discombobulated in the back. Other than that it's delicious!

WAY better than Pinkberry
Reviewer: JS from Santa Barbara, CA
This place is AMAZING. The yogurt selection is great, (personally i think coconut is the best), the toppings are fresh, and it is much cheaper than pinkberry! AND its open LATE!! go try it!

Yummy, but...
Reviewer: Linda from Santa Barbara, CA
Yogurtland definitely has a great concept of self-serving and reasonable prices. The Yogurt and the toppings both taste great. But I know that Yogurtlands at other locations have more and different flavors to chose from as I personally didn't like most of the ones at SB.

So cute and yummy, too!
Reviewer: Ash from Santa Barbara, CA
Love the yogurt and toppings here! I love how it's self serve, too! Great concept and Great Yogurt!

Artificial flavors
Reviewer: Eric from Santa Barbara, CA
Its disappointing that yogurtland doesn't have better yogurt - they definitely have the best business model of recent SB yogurt craze. I like the self serve, choose your own toppings, quantity and flavors system but the candy-banana flavoring is just too unreal. Same with the other flavors. I will stick with rockin yogurt, they have the freshest simple yogurt flavors.

quantity and variety is what this place is about!
Reviewer: chee from Santa Barbara, CA
this was my first Yogurtland experience, and I'd have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. what I liked about my visit was that the cashier allowed me to sample the different flavors of yogurt, and I think I probably could have asked for even more sample cups without any problem. overall, there were tons of different yogurt flavors, but most of them fell short of their namesake. for example, their chocolate was pretty average and their pineapple tart didn't have the consistency of other yogurt places that have tart-flavored yogurt. cheesecake didn't really taste like cheesecake, nor did the tiramisu. I ended up getting the coconut, which was probably the most creamy of the yogurts that I sampled, and the sugar free strawberry banana. that's another bonus...sugar free frozen yogurt flavors are hard to find! they give you cute little spoons to use, and the store is definitely less crowded than pinkberry up the street and less cramped than red mango. I'll be back!

Best yogurt & concept in town
Reviewer: Zack from Santa Barbara, CA
I love Yogurt Land's concept of putting as many toppings on as you want and as much yogurt as you want. They beat Pinkberry hands down because they have many many more flavors and the pricing is very reasonable (30 cents per oz). My favorite flavors are the plain tart and the pistacio. I can't wait to come back!

Disappointed
Reviewer: Arlene from Goleta, CA
After Rocking Yogurt, Pinkberry and Red Mango, I was expecting a lot better from Yogurtland. They have a lot of different flavors but only the plain tart was refreshing like a natural yogurt should taste. You can serve yourself choosing different toppings (no rapsberries and not all of them look very healthy), so this is a good point. Therefore this is difficult to rate the service, you are going to see the employee only when it's time to pay and to receive a spoon. Also the frozen yogurt makers were not that clean. Well I'm going to finish with a good point, the price was the least expensive from all yogurt stores, unfortunately I will not come back.

Simply the Best!
Reviewer: Jennifer from Santa Barbara, CA
I have been waiting for Yogurtland to open since one of my friends introduced me to it down South a few months ago. It is by far the best frozen yogurt ever, there are so many flavors to choose from with a wide assortment of toppings that don't have that day-old taste like other places in Santa Barbara. You can't go wrong here, especially since their prices are impossible to beat! Can't wait to go there again, so far my favorite flavors are their Toasted Coconut and Original Tart. Yum!
