my arteries clang shut with delight!

My favorite dogs in town. Fun/interesting/dangerous hot dog combinations, and it's a really nice family working the business. I've gotten the Mac Daddy - a hot dog with mac and cheese, bacon and crushed potato chips and after a little sweet talking, they added some nacho cheese sauce to it too. Over the 4th of July weekend I had the Firecracker, with bacon, nacho cheese sauce, jalapenos and jalapeno mustard. I'm wildly attracted to the Sweet Carolina, with chili, coleslaw, red onions, sweet and spicy mustard...actually I just want the coleslaw for a slaw dog.
They roll up to hip locations around town, like Muni Wine, or Telegraph Brewery, and are more consistently at Home Improvement near downtown/funkzone during Wednesday lunchtimes. As with most food trucks and carts, locations vary and they post updates via Facebook and Twitter. Prices are $5-8 depending on the topping combinations.

Too expensive for a hot dog

The hot dog was good, but I won't pay $6-$8 for a hotdog!

It was a great surprised to see Road Dogs at Wildcat Friday of Fiesta!! What a good hot dog too! Hope to see you out in the Goleta area soon.Love the homemade style that Carol puts in the Hot Dogs!

Not your typical Dog

Interesting as they have taken the typical Dog and put all kinds of interesting things on top of it as garnishes. Definitely worth a try, they are out in Goleta now on some days.

Really Good Food!

I ran into Road Dogs at the first Food Truck Festival. The Hot Dogs are really good, really big topped with fresh ingredients and a good price for the amount of food you get. Also a nice shiny stainless steel cart.

Road Dogs Rules!

Road Dogs is amazing. I first ate one at the food truck festival at 101 State Street a few weekends ago - and I can still remember the dog I got. It was the ranch dog with shredded iceberg lettuce, red onions, tomatoes that actually tasted like tomatoes and ranch dressing. It was amazing - and Jared and Carol are the coolest. Just hanging out by the stand puts you in a happier place. If you see the cart you must give it a try!!!

A great sausage!

Rolling through the Funk Zone on Saturday and spotted a bright umbrella outside the surf museum. Immediately pulled over to see a beautifully built stainless hot dog cart with steaming trays and the beautiful smell of simmering hot dogs. After checking out the menu (along with the best hot dog earrings on the owner)I decided to try out their newest addition, a Louisiana Hot Sausage! I asked for it with some spicy mustard, a bit of relish and some of this onion crunch stuff that. In my opinion, that stuff should be added to everything you ever eat from this day forward. Before I knew it, the fine gentleman behind the cart handed over a beautifully wrapped and superbly topped hot sausage. My first bite was amazing. The snap of a great steamed casing, the sting of the mustard evened out by the dazzling sweetness of the relish and the onion crunch that made my mouth sing! The owners asked what I thought and the only thing I could get out of my mouth was, "another please!" Although I am not a hot dog guy, they use the same dogs as Pinks in L.A., so I will give that a try another time, but for me, that LA hot with a great choice of toppings (cole slaw, potato salad, nacho cheese) allows for so many possibilities covering every taste imaginable. I am sold and will most certainly be back!
