Cute place, food okay, 12/24/2012

We went here because we have an Axxess card and wanted to check it out. Also, we thought it would be a nice place to buy a gift certificate as a present (like to keep it local). We both had turkey sandwiches which were good, but nothing special and they were served with a handful of tortilla chips on the side which I just thought was weird. The sandwich would have been much better had it been toasted and if I had known it wasn't I would have requested it. Nice atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. We did end up purchasing a gift certificate.

While visiting my brother in Ventura, I made it a point to drive to the Garden Market, as often as I could. The food is wonderful, the outdoor Patio so peaceful, (didn't mind the train,) and the choice of gifts and wine so inviting. Since I live on the East Coast, I get on the Web to take me back to the Garden Market. You have a gem on Santa Claus Lane. It's a great place.

Found this little gem of a deli from this website. The atmosphere was peaceful and charming. Eating in a garden makes your meal so much more satisfying. The food was fresh and tasty. I will be coming back to try another meal!

Ok Food/Service, Nice Ambience

Its like you are eating in someone's house or in their back patio garden so really nice atmosphere. The food was pretty good but the price hurt a bit for me. Food took awhile to come out too and an order was missed. People are fairly nice there, I think a place more for higher end locals than for tourists.

Food was great. My wife doesn't like egg dishes so they made her turkey and brie from the lunch menu. Prices were reasonable. Good coffee although not steaming hot. Beautiful garden eating area out back. Very nice staff.

I love the food especially the chicken salad sandwich, but I must say, I had one of today's specials, the salmon salad. It was very good; fresh, great tasting you name it.
Plus, the staff is always smiling and the service is fast and efficient

I just went here for the first time. I've read the previous great reviews and they are absolutely correct. I had the Gourmet Turkey Sandwich and it was sooo yummy. The atmosphere feels like smaller version of Metropulos, but with a nice outside, covered seating area. The two girls behind the counter were very helpful, friendly and smiled the entire time.

I LOVE the Garden Market! My husband and I have been known to eat lunch there each day of our trips to Carpinteria. The brie sandwich is out of this world! My husband is addicted to the Holiday Turkey sandwich! Everything is fresh, fast and amazing!

Fabulous combination of proteins, veggies, and fruits, they create "outside the box" meals that are tantalizing to the taste buds! The staff are wonderful and they have a darling Hispanic male who works there who is always willing to provide one with exceptional service and a charming smile. The books, cards and gifts are a great one stop location to provide one with the chance to purchased needed items for gifts, and also dinner party accessories, wine and unique jewelry to make other envious! Great Market with a fabulous surprise in the back.

I don't know what gina is talking about. The service at the garden market is great. Everyone there is soo friendly and I have never seen or heard any of the employees being rude to a customer. I HAVE seen them go out of there way to make sure you get what you want. I think Gina was having a bad day for her to give this place a bad review. If her business likes the food but has problems then why do they return? If the service is always bad then why order lunch there? PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO GINA. THIS PLACE IS GREAT AND WORTH HAVING LUNCH AT. I LOVE THE GARDEN MARKET AND THEIR EMPLOYEES.
