New favorite spot in town, 6/28/2013
Reviewer: Rachel from Santa Barbara, CA
Went here for my anniversary and was hesitant because of the negative reviews regarding their service. Ate here anyway and was very happy we did. The food was delicious and timely, the wait service was friendly and attentive, and the cocktails were strong yet not Joe's strong. And of course, the view from the patio is impeccable. I'll definitely be back.

Good times!!
Reviewer: Jennifer Ellis from Santa Barbara, CA
We Surprised my husband for fathers day had my kids from So Calif meet us there since it was a half way point from our house. I tried to change my reservation around but the times I wanted to change were not available but the staff worked with me and went out of their way to accommodate us. The view was beautiful, service was top notch, we loved our waiter, and great food and reasonably priced. The hot bread was soo good and my husband was really happy with the different sea food and steak and didn't care that we ran up a $340.00 bill :) Will def be making this spot our meeting location for future family events.

Great lunch with a great view

Enjoying our 30th Honeymoon with a visit to Santa Barbara. Tony at Blue Sands Motel recommended Chucks at the Marina -- great choice! Moderately priced, excellent service and food, and sitting outside on a February day (gas heaters going) with the marina activity going on was a bonus.

Catering

I just had Chuck's cater my wedding reception at the Maritime Museum and could not have had a better experience. The food, service and help that they gave us was amazing. John, the manager there helped us each step of the way. Awesome job!

Overall Great Dining Experience
Reviewer: Pearl & Rube from Santa Barbara, CA
We are long time Santa Barbarans, and we make it a point to eat here often because of the excellent food, service, and ambience. We especially like John's delicious lobster bisque, and the sunset specials are worth ordering. We have tried many of the menu items and have not been disappointed with any. We should also not neglect to mention that the staff is very friendly and exceptionally accommodating to our requests.

Great steak, great view, better service!
Reviewer: Bryan from Goleta, CA
Enjoyed a rib eye steak on the beautiful patio overlooking the Harbor. Only place to get a great steak in the Harbor! Try it you will love it!

Horrible wait for service!
Reviewer: Jennifer from Fresno, CA
My boyfriend and I made a reservation for a Monday night. We were seated when we arrived but we sat for over 15 minutes without service! We were given bread/butter/water but no server approached us or even told us they'd be right with us. We got up and walked out so I have no rating for food. The 0.5 service rating is for the bread and butter drop-off.

Very Bad Dining Experience
Reviewer: Nick from Santa Barbara, CA
We had an extremely bad dining experience!! The service was absolutely horrible. Once seated, our order was taken in a reasonable amount time. That was about all that went right. First, it took 15 min to bring 2 beers. Salads and soups before our dinner also took a long time. After another long wait our entrees arrived. In addition to the long wait, the waitress put in the order incorrectly so the wrong entree arrived. We asked her to fix the order which also took a long time to cook a simple hamburger. There were several other aspects that made this experience hard to explain. The restaurant was not busy (it was a Sunday evening), and the waitress almost never came to the table to explain the long wait or check on us. At one point a drink was spilled and the buss staff promptly cleaned it up, however we were never even give new napkins. I don't usually write reviews, but this was such a horrible dining experience I will never go again, and I don't want other people to waste their time or money either in the future.

Chowder is NOT #1 in town
Reviewer: Elena from Santa Barbara, CA
As much as I appreciate their efforts, their chowder doesn't come close to Brophy's Bros in terms of being more like a New England chowder. I was fairly warned that it was a thinner broth but everything about it struck me as not that great - too much celery, too many canned clams. Also I ordered the Caeser salad and it was a small portion - no different than my friend's who got it as part of her meal. Overall it was too expensive for quality that is so-so. The service was fine and generally attentive.

Fantastic! Love, love, loved Johnny's Lobster Bisque

Thoroughly enjoyed Johnny's Lobster Bisque while dinning in Santa Barbara. We will make Chuck's Seaside Grill part of every trip to SB!!

Simply Awesome
Reviewer: Kate Polk from Fort Irwin, CA
My husband and I had been on vacation in Santa Barbara for a week long vacation- and were seeking some restaurants with excellent seafood. We came across Chuck's Waterfront Grill. Simply Awesome seafood!!! Must Trys: John's Lobster Bisque, Crusted Halibut, and Kuai Ice Cream Pie... YUM!!!! The ambiance was perfect... sitting outside with views of the ocean, harbor, and sunsets over the water... Awesome Time!

It was okay, prices were better than other places
Reviewer: Steve from Oro Valley, AZ
My wife and I were visiting, and we wanted to go somewhere near the harbor that was reasonably priced and had a variety of food. We chose this restaurant based upon the many good reviews here. Upon arrival, we found the outside seating area to be nicely remodeled, with beatiful views of the harbor. We sat inside, however, due to having an infant in tow and it was chilly outside. The interior of the restaurant is in dire need of remodeling, as it resembles something you'd see in a bad movie. Anyway, the food was okay (nothing extraordinary), as was the service. The prices were better than some other places we had eaten on the warf, but then again the views and food on the warf may have been better. Summary: We probably won't eat there again on our next trip. If you do decide to eat there, sit outside on the patio.
