Great food for over 2 decades
Reviewer: Katie
from Santa Barbara, CA
I've gone to this place since I was a kid, and it's AMAZING. I don't know what the person who commented before was talking about it ONLY being about burritos. My favorite dish there is the chicken tortas. So cheesy and meaty and delicious and their salsas just make it THAT MUCH BETTER. You don't wait for people to serve you, you can get your food yourself. The people running this place are wonderful, especially if you talk to them for a little bit. So give it a chance, it's a great place to get a bite to eat after being at the beach all day.

I love this place!
Reviewer: Niklas

I love this place! Read the reviews below and think some of them must have the wrong restaurant. been eating there for years. They've always had tortas, tostadas etc. menu is very large. they didn't use to put chips on your plate, but now they do give you chips. Service is a bit slower than some restaurants but that's because every order is made for you. Quick serving places usually have the food sitting on a burner. I think they make the BEST shrimp tacos and vegetable quesadillas in town!!

One note food cooked by loud and obnoxious employees
Reviewer: Mike
from Santa Barbara, CA
This place was not so good. The food all tasted the same and there really isn't much to it. Bland and boring. The staff were all gathered around talking loudly and pretty much ignoring the customers. We sat down and after awhile were wondering where the food was. I turned around and the cook had the food up on the counter and waved me over to pick it up while the other employees just talked. Salsa bowls were empty...won't be back.

Fast, clean, healthy & affordable
Reviewer: Elaine
from Santa Barbara, CA
The grilled veggie burritos are my and my husband's favorite--huge, stuffed to the brim with healthy, fresh veggies, beans and rice, single tortilla, for a fair price. Unlike other customer reviewers, I've always found this place to have fast and reliable service. I live less than 5 minutes away, and for a to-go order, I can leave and be back at my house in 15-20 minutes. I can't cook a meal that fast myself. Granted, it's slower than Taco Bell, but it's also fresh, unprocessed, real food. The veggie burrito has at least double the quantity inside than the one we've had at a popular downtown Mexican restaurant, so Mexican Fresh is a much better value. Plus, the place looks clean, and has an upbeat atmosphere.

Great burritos
Reviewer: Jennifer

The best burritos and juicy. We tried Super Cucas for the same burrito and prefer Mexican Fresh. It's a longer wait but worth it. My husband and I get the bean and cheese burritos and add carnitas meat and love it.

They are SLOW!!!
Reviewer: Heather
from Santa Barbara, CA
Not a fan of this place at all. The are SLOW! The food is Mediocore at best for Mexican food. I've been there 3 times and everytime the food takes FOREVER! It took 20 minutes with one customer in front of me to get a breakfast burrito. Another time, I called ahead and still had to wait 1/2 an hour. So if your in hurry steer clear, if you got a whole evening to kill and are on the Mesa and HAVE to have Mexican food...go for it!

Ok food, nice environment to eat
Reviewer: Glenn
from Buellton
Good to Ok food, Insides are neatly decorated including lots of tables inside and out and you feel like its mexican over other places. Salsa is good. People nice. I would agree the meat could be tastier(compare with Super Cucas close by) and they could add chips to a burrito order. Drinks are behind the counter. They have a 2 for 1 with discount card so worth to go for that.

Good burritos
Reviewer: Foodie Dan
from Santa Barbara
I had the little pepe with carnitas. Don't let the name fool you this thing was huge! I found the carnitas to be a little dry but the salsa was very good. The have some pretty basic things on the menu, soft tacos, nachos, burritos. All of it seems fresh. They do a good lunch time business and parking can be tight. I think I'll try something else next time.

Great Burritos!
Reviewer: Gabriela

Fabulous burritos. You can get fresh grilled veggies in them that are wonderful - mushrooms, green peppers, etc. The carnitas are divine. Yeah - not much more than burritos - but hey, that's what you come for here! Love love love this place.

Nothing special
Reviewer: dime2
from santa barbara, ca
First of all, burritos should come with a few chips. It's ridiculously cheap not to do this. Next, the chicken they use in the burritos is plain and I do mean plain. Would it kill them to marinate it? Or to add something to the Little Pepe so it doesn't taste like PLAIN chicken, beans, and rice. Did I mention it was plain? I am not of the school that says that all of the seasoning in the burrito should come from the salsa you put on it but maybe others are?

Best burrito in town
Reviewer: Michelle P
from Santa Barbara, CA
With so many burrito choices in town - this is one of the best hidden and least known. Tasty meat or veggie options will leave your mouth and tummy happy! (Not much else on the menu is worth mentioning.) I think the difference is the fresh quality ingredients and the tasty cabbage. My personal fave is the Steak Monster.
