Local eatery that has very good omelets! The atmosphere is warm, cute and the service is very good. Lots of fresh coffee, and an entertaining menu that plays on the "legal" vernacular. Very good specials for the day. Our first time, but it won't be the last.

Great Breakfast Spot

I consider myself a regular and from my first visit I knew Judge For Yourself was the kind of breakfast spot I had been looking for. Never a wait, the food is brought to you quickly and fresh, the coffee is always pouring and the service is great.
If you're a local and enjoy nice quiet meals with good company this place is a must!

Unique Diner

Visted the cafe for the first time on 7/11/2010. It is a unique little diner with a vast menu and very friendly service. Would love a chance to try more items on the menu. Had the cornbeef hash. It should be called a cornbeef cake instead of hash. It was a deep fried disc of hash. It had a very good flavor and was nice and crispy, but a little too greasy for my personal taste. It came with hasbrowns, which were nice and crispy too. They were yummy! I would definately vist this little cafe again for some of the lunch items.

Great breakfast...
Reviewer: Mike

Had breakfast there on Sunday morning. Judge for Yourself is definitely a locals place, not geared towards tourists. It is truly a neighborhood eatery. The signs say open 365 days a year but they close at 2pm everyday. My breakfast was perfectly prepared and the service was quite attentive. Rivals my favorite on Upper State, Steve's Patio, for a good breakfast.

Great Breakfast and Pleasant Staff

Have not been here in 10 plus years and I have been trying
to get out and experience as many restaurants as possible.
Glad I did. 730am for Breakfast on a Saturday and were only
patrons at that hour, waiter was very friendly and provided
great hospitality. Omelets had great and ample stuffing not
just a dusting of ingredients, as in some places ! Great Legal
atmosphere including the law books and cool names on the menu.
As we left the places started to fill, looks like a busy day.
Good for the owners. Will return again soon.

a MUST try!!!!

My mom and I happened into this place for breakfast over 20 years ago and have been coming ever since. Their food is delicious and service is fabulous (Elaine always knows my order, along with my whole family). My favorite is exhibit C, corned beef hash and eggs, along with their omelets. The food is consistently good, eggs are always cooked perfectly, and the service is fast. It’s a must try if you have never been!!!

Never miss it on our way through town !

We NEVER miss stopping here for breakfast on our way up the coast. In fact, we eat here more often than any place in our home town. Food is consistently good, and servers are always friendly and attentive. Our coffee cups are never empty. Love the great variety in menu items.

Very rude encounter

Just an advise if you go to this place try not to deal with the cook/owner. I had a very embarassing experience when I went there for my lunch yesterday. I ordered a veggie burger to go. It turned out totally dry and unedible, although I've ordered the same item before and it was delicious. I went back for a replacement and tried to be as friendly and polite as possible. I explaned the situation to my waitress (she always provides a great service). The cook who is the owner as well started arguing with me saying the burger was just what it's supposed to be. His tone was such that I felt humiliated. This is no way to treat your customers. I will never go back there again.

A favorite of the locals´
Reviewer: Laura

I love this little diner. Sandwiches and hamburgers are always good, omelettes are yummy, excellent potato salad, too. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is just want you want from a cozy hometown eatery (something we have less and less of in ritzy Santa Barbara, sadly). Hands-down, my favorite little place for an unpretentious breakfast or lunch.
