Delicious Food, Cashiers very Grumpy , 9/13/2014
Reviewer: Mireya from Santa Barbara, CA
Food is fantastic but the cashiers are always in a hurry doing so many things at the same time I feel bad for them they should just hire cashiers that only work at the register treating customers friendly and others preparing the orders.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, 4/24/2014
Reviewer: Ludvin from Santa Barbara, CA
Most horrible Customer Service. They had no training at all. They smashed the bread in small bags. I asked for a bigger bag but they said "This bag is what I was told to give with these qty of breads". I offered to pay and sarcastically said "NO i can not give you a bigger bag" SO BAD. Like another customer commented, I make the same mistake of going back. PRoduct is great, but THERE ARE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL..

I Don't Understand the Good Reviews
Reviewer: Anthony G. from Santa Barbara, CA
I am a SB local and have been a Bella Rosa customer for the last 25 years. I have been disappointing time and time again as I make the mistake of going back, thinking that they might have improved. Don't get me wrong, the bread is good--when they have some, but that is where it ends. The way employees treat customers is absolutely deplorable. Nobody that works here has any concept of service or at the least good manners. The cashiers are always rude and they are often argumentative when I point out errors in my order, which they can never get right.

GOOD FOOD , BAD,TERRIBLE AND SLOW SERVICE !!!!!
Reviewer: TONNY from Santa Barbara, CA
I LIKE THE BREAD,TORTAS,TAMALES ETC. FROM HERE. BUT THE SEVICE IS TERRIBLE AND SLOW ,ALWAYS BIG WAITING LINE(EVERY TIME I GO THERE I WAIT AT LEAST 15 MINUTES FOR 1 TORTA,)THE CASHIERS DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TREAT THE CUSTOMERS(THERE ARE ONLY 2 NICE CASHIERS BUT I DONT KNOW THE NAMES...THE ANOTHERS CASHIERS ARE UNFRIENDLY),WHILE WE ASK FOR SOMETHING THEY RESPONDS TOO BAD, SO I HEARD A LOT PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SLOW AND TERIBLE SERVICE!!!! :-(

masa for tamales
Reviewer: Leticia N. from Santa Barbara, CA
I was told by an employee in my supermarket that La Bella Rosa had the best masa for my tamales. So I went there and bought a bag of it from the cheerful staff. I was not disappointed. Those were the best tamales I ever made, and it must have been because of their masa, it is truly the best. It seemed to have plenty of manteca, I think that is why it's so good. Leticia N.

Sweet Masa.
Reviewer: Nora from Douglas, Az
I read your review that they have the best masa for tamales. I have made tamales for over 50 years and I was very disappointed with this product. They must have put sugar in the masa because it was extremely sweet so much so, that I could not use it. I made 2 test red Chile tamales and they were not even edible. I am here visiting and wanted to make tamales for my friends, what a disappointment. The sad part was that we bought 10 pounds of masa that had to be thrown away. I also found the help to be unfriendly when I asked for a smaller amount of masa; they said they could not sell me a smaller amount only what they had already bagged. We ended up going to Foodland just up the block and were able to get the masa needed for our tamales. They say that their pan dulce is good; maybe they use masa to make it.

great food, bad service!
Reviewer: Jenaro from Santa Barbara, CA
The bread is very good, unfortunately the service staff do not know what they are doing! More than once I have seen them take care of one person ordering a cake (and they are not sure what to order) while the line gets longer and longer! I have seen and I have just left because of the wait. I no longer go there as a result. There are other bakeries in town with just as good bakery (lower milpas and Haley st to name a few).

best Mexican bread in S.B
Reviewer: Dawn from Santa Barbara, CA
I have lived in SB for 30yrs. and no Mexican bread in town comes close to being as good as La Bella Rosa Bakery.I always thought Mexican bread was a heavy, dense type of pastry until I tried theirs. La Bella Rosa has taught me what 'good' Mexican bread should be like: light, airy and flavorful. I agree with other reviewers, their staff is not the friendliest, but what the heck their food is the bomb and I'm not there to make friends. ;P

Best Tri Tip Torta I've ever had
Reviewer: Curtis from Santa Barbara, CA
A co worker told me that they had good Tri Tip Torta. I went there to check it out and I was AMAZED! The Tri Tip was delicious and tender. The bread was freshly made and SO GOOD! I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The fresh smell of the other baked goods are so tempting while you are waiting for your sandwich. So be careful!

Great Food, Ok service, recommended "to go"
Reviewer: Glenn from Buellton
Not really an eating establishment, after getting the tamales I was not given any untensils and they have no salsa, napkins either. Server I had was not very cheerful or happy to see me. The food was great, you can get some tamales to go(if you want them hot prepare to wait 10 minutes, I would recommend just heating them at home). The pastries were really good. Not really any "american" style donuts I could see, more of a hispanic bakery with some pastries and tamales/tortas to go.

Wow!
Reviewer: stuart from Santa Barbara, CA
I can't believe I have lived here for 12 years and never tried this terrific place. And its like being in Mexico- everyone is very friendly and welcoming even when the place is crowded at 8AM. The pastries are delicious. I can't wait to go back and try the tamales and tortas. YUM.
