This
museum features both permanent and changing exhibits that share
Santa Barbara's colorful past from the Native American age to
modern times. It also offers an extensive holdings of books,
photographs, maps, and manuscripts. The library is a rich resource
for the study of regional history.
The Historical Museum also has two historic
homes tours: Fernald Mansion (tours
every Saturday at 1pm and 2pm) and
Trussell-Winchester Adobe (tours every Saturday from 1 pm -
3 pm and Sunday 12 pm - 5 pm). Adults
$5.00, children under 17, $1.00. Call the
Museum for more information.
Directions: From the 101 take the Garden
Street exit and turn away from the ocean. Drive until you
reach De La Guerra. Turn left. When you reach Santa
Barbara St., the Museum will be on your right. There is
parking behind the building which can be accessed from De La
Guerra Street.
