We are a boutique winery in Santa Barbara County dedicated to handcrafting wines of distinction and elegance. We hope that we can meet in person at our Tasting Room, nestled in the beauty of Ballard Canyon between Solvang and Los Olivos, California.

Tasting Room

The setting for Rusack is as unique as the wines. Entered via a winding drive through the vineyards, the tasting room features an inviting redwood deck constructed around four beautiful ancient oaks.

Our tasting room features a custom made tasting bar fashioned in the Arts & Crafts style and complemented with pottery of that age, as well as our award winning wines. Many of the items that we feature in the tasting room are also available for sale in our online store. Our friendly staff will make you feel welcome and answer any questions you may have about our winemaking and our wines here at Rusack. It's a picture-perfect place for a picnic, or just sipping wine and enjoying the spectacular view.

The tasting room is open seven days a week from 11am to 5pm. Our tasting fee is $9.00, and includes a beautiful crystal logo glass to take with you as a souvenir of your visit. Anacapa Cellar Club members receive complimentary wine tasting and may bring up to four people in their group.

We regret that we are not always able to accommodate large groups. Please call ahead for reservations if you are interested in bringing a group of ten or more.

Rusack History

Nestled in picturesque Ballard Canyon in the center of Santa Ynez Valley, amidst oak-studded rolling hills lies Rusack Vineyards, a boutique vineyard and winery dedicated to growing top-quality grapes and producing outstanding handcrafted wines.

Rusack Vineyards was established in 1995 by Geoff Rusack and Alison Wrigley Rusack with a commitment to creating world-class wines. The estate vineyards were originally planted about 30 years ago, but in early 2003 they were replanted using the latest in vineyard technologies and varietals best-suited to the relevant microclimates. As well as the estate vineyards, Rusack Vineyards continues to source classic varietal grapes from the some of the best vineyards in the area including neighbor vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley appellation and Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Santa Rita Hills and the Santa Maria Valley. Please visit our Estate Vineyards page for additional details.

Winemakers, John and Helen Falcone, joined Rusack Vineyards in 2001 as one of the few husband and wife winemaking teams in California. The Falcones' decision to join Rusack Vineyards was prompted in large part by their desire to "get back to hand-crafting wines" and their belief that Santa Barbara County is now one of the best places for a small-production winery to live up to its potential for producing great wines.

In this small operation, the wines truly are made by hand, and the Rusacks' commitment to quality is reflected in everything they do from the meticulous growing of their grapes to the distinctive design of their label.
