A Caregiver Referral Agency, also known as a Domestic Referral Agency (DRA), is a type of employment agency. The caregiver is not employed by the DRA and caregivers negotiate the pay rate directly with the client. For clients wishing to utilize a consumer-directed model of non-medical home care services, DRA's can be a very cost effective solution. DRA's run background checks and must personally interview and verify the work experience/training of the caregivers they refer. DRA's are paid an ongoing referral fee for their services.
