Reader Wade tells me that there is a new business named Le Macaron coming soon 819A Paseo Nuevo, (formerly Chocolate Opulence), featuring French Pastries. Le Macaron is next to Sushi Tyme. Reader Cathy says Le Macaron opens Thursday May 5th and my call to the business confirmed it.

The other macaron place closed awhile ago and wasn’t open that long, I think because their macarons tasted frozen and the service was a bored teenager who had no clue what they were selling. French Macarons are a hard sell to most Americans, they are expensive and small and not that sweet. A sincere “good luck” to Le Macaron…I’ll be there, I’ll take one in every flavor. Macaron Love!
Also they don’t seem to be able to spell the plural of “gelato” correctly. Makes you wonder how “authentic” they really are.
They spelled macaron and croissant correctly! Those French probably misspelled gelati on purpose, to show us ( particularly the Italians ) how it “should” be spelled. Hahaha.
Just went there, very nice lady (probably the owner?), some free samples, all tasted delicious. They also have French fine chocolates, took the caramel salted dark chocolate one which was very good. And they also sell French fresh pastries, croissants, pain au chocolat and brioches. There were six clients in the shop when I arrived, all seemed happy. Had a cup of espresso, tasted like in Italy. Good Luck !
