Delicious and Innovative, 6/13/2008
Reviewer: J from Santa Barbara
Decided to try this restaurant on a whim after seeing its cute "Q" symbol when exiting Carrillo. The service was friendly (if a little slow), but the food was amazing! The menu had an abundance of choices and everything seemed to have a unique twist to it - my soup was very tasty & fresh and the grilled goat cheese sandwich that came with it was a great touch. I highly recommend the parmesan fries - DELICIOUS! I'll definitely be back soon!

A Great Find in Santa Barbara!, 3/18/2008

After reading through many reviews of restaurants in Santa Barbara, I was afraid I wouldn't find what I was looking for: good-tasting, healthful food, served in a clean place. Then my husband remembered driving by this unusual-looking place earlier, so we drove to Quantum & looked at the menu posted outside. It looked good, and it was good, even great! Thank-you Quantum for some new flavors that were well-prepared, we both enjoyed it very much. How about opening a place in San Jose (specifically, in Santana Row)?

Great Food, but the service left a bad taste in my mouth, 2/22/2008

The best thing in the restaurant is the chef, Peter! He came out of the kitchen, offered menu suggestions, and was very helpful. If you go there order the duck crepes because they are phenomenal! Unfortunately my dinner guests and I received some of the worst service I've ever had at a sit down restaurant. I ordered a nice champagne and then watched it handled in and extremely inappropriate manner. Our server actually poured from one glass to others because she didn't filled the glasses to the top and the bottle didn't make it around the table. This was of course after she poured the champagne with her hand wrapped all the way around the bottle up by the top foil.I was funny last night, but the more I think about it I am pretty upset. I also had to send two drinks back to the bar, I ordered a martini and got grapefruit juice. We had two servers helping and I had to ask for waters, our check and after 20 minutes walk the check to the computer!!! fun times...

GREAT, but service need urgent improvment, 2/13/2008

We love Quantum, but they are in serious need of floor organization (staff). Maybe they could have a few, but then very good/experienced waiters to accommodate our Santa Barbara high service standards. Bartender should be smiling more, she looks most of the time "down". Prompt "delivery" of checks are crucial due to people going to movies, plays and etc. (last time it was 30 min.!) Please improve, we would hate to see you go, again!! Fans

mmmm, fried chicken..., 1/26/2008

I have brought my friends into Quantum a number of times to enjoy a good meal before we continue on to the downtown festivities. I have never had anything but great food and service while dining there. The food is exceptional-- and the prices are to be expected here in Santa Barbara. As long as they keep serving the fried chicken and the avocado salsa, my friends and I will continue to come back.

If you want to champion mediocrity, this is it..., 1/6/2008

The food at Quantum three months ago was great, as were the prices - but today, that doesn't ring true. I'm not sure what direction they are going, but I can say after dining there over a dozen times that i won't be headed back anytime soon. Why? The food is too expensive. (Perhaps it's Winter pricing?) Interfacing with the owner/bartender doesn't make it any better... he's odd and not interested in customer feedback. Not that finding good food is a problem in this town as Sevilla or Elements or Milk & Honey are a excellent alternatives. I like Quantum for their fabulously thin bistro fries... but hey, it's not much of a calling card... not enough to differentiate it in this town. All that to say - they have a great space and i've brought plenty of people there, but no one ever wants to go back...

Burger joint w/a bar, 8/11/2007
Reviewer: Daryl from Santa Barbara, CA
Went here recently to try the new menu. The burger selections are everything from plain 'ol hamburger to build your own and all the California selections in between. The burger was pretty good (not the most tasty I've had) and the fries were good. The drink was OK (gin and tonic with a burger, yeah, it's a new trend), but was a little light. Overall the new decor is nice, but a different layout and new location could really make this place happen.

Very Odd, 7/6/2007

First off this restaurant is in a very odd local. It is right on carrillo so its a bit confusing be there. Inside is small, the bar is nice, but very differnt layout. The menu has some nice sounded dishing, a bit overpriced for everything though. The burgers were ok, the fries were really good, and the scallops were very good, but way overpriced. The waiter was the oddest part of the evening. He was a nice person, but very strange, and to be honest we were sitting outside and when he first came to the table i thought he was transient. Over all wierd is the best way to explain this place.

The best place nobody knows, 7/3/2007

Their advertising is very confusing. Catering, to-go, restaurant... But, the place is great. They have the best burgers in town. Without a doubt. (They participated in the downtown Art & Wine so maybe you tried their burgers there) The rest of the menu looks very good. They also have a great selection of wine. The setting is the perfect blend of casual but classy. The bar is really nice. It looks like nothing from the outside, being in a strip mall, but inside it is great. Enjoy!
