Great Food

Went here based on friend's recommendation. Being a local, Bacara can be a bit intimidating but we enjoyed our lunch. There was a good vartiety of choices on the menu and a lot of healthy fresh items. Definitely recommend to anyone who works in Goleta and wants to have lunch and feel like you are on vacation.

Not up to Bacara standards

My daughters and I ate at Spa Cafe prior to our spa appointments. Waitstaff was nice, but delivery of food and drinks was slow. My soup was a Soba noodle with shrimp, asparagus, & snow peas. The soup was so hot that it couldn't be eaten. By the time it cooled, the shrimp was inedible. It was otherwise uninspired. One daughter had halibut and the other had chicken, both were good, but we expected more for the price. We are locals and have come to Bacara before for spa days. Been to Miro before too, which was good. Just seems that they could do much better.

NOT impressed

We came for a day at the spa, and had "brunch" at the Spa Cafe. Though it was 11:30 am on a Saturday, we were only offered the breakfast menu, so though I was craving something more "lunch-like" , I went with it, mistakenly presuming that was my only option. Food is extremely expensive - I had a side (listed as such) of fruit which I believe was $14. Food was good, but in know way spectacular. At the end of the meal, it took close to a half hour to get the check, though we asked multiple members of the waitstaff. I would not return.
