Giovanni's is the best pizza I've ever had. I now have pizza Wednesdays thanks to their Meat Lovers pizza. It also has a very nice dining area. Good for all ages.

Descent definitely not great!, 4/5/2012

Kid friendly. From Ny so hard to compare pizza. Crust was thick. Too much oregano for me. Ravioli and their sauce was good.

Great service and great pizza.

Too soggy, 8/11/2010

I agree with the previous writer - the center was all soggy even though the pizza itself was tasty. Even domino's does a better job in making sure it's crust stays crisp and dry.

I was travelling the US from the UK and really fancied some pizza. Being Italian I saw the Italian name and thought i'd get some good old traditional Italian pizza! Unfortunately this was not the case! I had a pepperoni pizza - it was ok for a takeaway joint - it was thick, greasy and absolutely COVERED in cheese! this of course makes the centre soggy! Saying that the pizza was huge and I only finished just under 1/2!! If your looking for a typical takeaway pizza place i'd stick with Domino's or Pizza hut. Otherwise find a good old Italian serving beautiful crispy thin stone baked pizza!! yum!

Amazingly good pizza!, 4/20/2010

Not sure the bad reviews or what else is available in the area but this pizza was some of the BEST I have ever had! Seemed better than the State St Giovannis to me. Place is probably a bit rundown for a Montecito establishment but you are probably getting your pizza to go anyways. The restroom is around the corner and kind of seedy so don't send the kids alone.

Not as good as it used to be., 1/23/2010

Decided to give this place a try since it had been many many years since my last visit. The salad was OK if you like a lot of cheese, ranch dressing and iceberg lettuce. Pizza was OK but not great. It seems they are using a cheaper cheese and pepperoni which made the pie extremely greasy. The interior of the restaurant looks the same 20 years ago and should get a face lift along with the removal of the carpet in the dining hall. Overall the experience was a little disappointing and the owner should invest a little more love into this place to make it shine again.

Please Just Close, 12/11/2009

In a town with Piattis and Pan e Vino, in an age where you can get Pizza's frozen that are better than thi, could you please either fix the recipes, put some attention to the product or just close. I have owned more than 200 pizza restaurants. It is one of the easiest products in the world to make when you do it right. First you get a good dough recipe. You make your dough 18-24 hours early. You raise it in a special dough area that is chilled. You make your sauce fresh each day. You use real mozzerella and meats. You train your people to do this. You keep them trained. How is it possible for New York or Milan to have 1,000 pizza places that are great and Montecito to have only one and it is the worst. This is a great place to take 7 year olds who think this is a step above Beef A roni but just does not do it for anyone who likes nice food.

I am very disappointed at there service. I was craving a slice of pizza. I went into this establishement I saw on the menu a slice of pizza and then if you wanted to add toppings 0.50 extra. I got mad because I wanted a slice of pizza with sausage the owner said no because the sausage was raw but I can get a slice of pizza with sausage at different pizza joint. If you can't do something disclose it to your customers think about this you may get someone other than me get mad at you for not disclosing on your menu or where you can see it. Instead I ended up with heart attack peperoni pizza that I did not eat it all because I was craving a suasage pizza.

Family Fun Pizza, 6/9/2009

I have been going to Giovanni's for quite sometime now and I have to say it is good pizza, good salads, and good service. What I also love about it is that it is one of the last reasonable priced places in Montecito. IT's fast quick pizza that is good food. The atmosphere is very family oriented with arcade games and gumball dispensers. The family salad is simple and delicious topped with ranch dressing.

Maybe the salad isn't the best, but the pizza is really good. You shouldn't judge a resteraunt by the salad. The only reason Giovanni's has salads is because people don't always want to have pizza. If you aren't a fan of their salads, don't eat them; it isn't like you are being forced to eat it.

Not the best..., 12/3/2006

Their cesear salad is bitter tasting, grainy, and chuncky. I felt like I was eating a tennis ball with rocks inside of it. It was the worst food experience I had ever had. 1 STAR! Although the pizza is the most wonderful tasting pizza. It lights up my mouth like a light that open ups the heavens. The pizza is wonderful but don't EVER get the cesear salad.

I can't speak for the other Giovanni's as I have only eaten at the Montecito location but i've been returning here for 6 years now. Their salads and sandwiches are generous in portion and top notch in quality. Since Rusty's closed down thet street (their big draw was ready made pizza by the slice) there is no other reasonable choice for pizza and subs around town. Keep up the good work!
