Just Okay, 4/15/2005

They food is not delicious, but not terrible either. It´s just okay, but the price is a bit on the high side for what you get.

Amazing tortilla soup!!, 4/2/2005

Some of the food at The Good Earth is a bit dull but the tortilla soup is really incredible, better than at most Mexican restaurants I´ve been to! I don´t know if it´s always on the menu, but order it if you can! The beef stroganoff is quite good too.

Outdated and overpriced, 2/23/2005

I hadn´t been to the Good Earth for about a year. After eating there today, I remember why. I ordered the Cobb salad. It was served on a bed of iceberg which was limp and wilted. I picked out several pieces that had brown oxidized edges. My avocado looked like it had been sitting out over night. It wasn´t edible. There are many restaurants in town that serve food which is comparably priced of much better quality. The management should have lunch at Fresca, the Natural Cafe, or the brand new A Capella. I had lunch there yesterday and had a much better salad for less money. I won´t return to the Good Earth until they update their menu, and improve the quality of their food.

should be called the Bad Earth, 8/14/2004

I´m sorry to say that I do not agree with all of the other reviews. I was really looking forward to having a wonderful breakfast meal with my sister. We both ordered omlets and toast. The food was cold, omlet was rubbery, the toast was not toasted and not hot at all, the orange juice was warm, and the service was soooooo slow. We only had three bites of our food and left extremely disappointed. I´m sorry, but I would never go here again! I highly recommend Cajun Kitchen for breakfast instead.

Great!, 5/10/2004

Whenever I happen to be back in town, this is one of my favorite places to eat. I have been going there since I was a little kid and the food is consistently good!! I have had just about every thing on the menu, and even though I am not a vegetarian by any standards I can always find something to please me. The fish of the day is always fresh and highly recommended! My favorites are the cobb salad, the potato skins, quesadillas, and above all the 12 summer vegetable soup! Oh, and don´t forget about their own special blend of iced tea. Sweet and spicy, I have never tasted its equal!

Wanted to add to my 3/17/04 review, 3/17/2004

Meant to say that the only reason I didn´t gave it 5 stars is because some may find their dinners too simple. But, it´s cozy food! So, this time, I think I *will* make it 5 stars, as that´s REALLY how we feel about this spot for breakfast. This combined w/the Palace Grill (formerly Cafe) are Santa Barbara highlights for us, whenever we´re in town.

Excellent for breakfast, esp! , 3/17/2004

My hubby & I have been going to the Good Earth since we were students at UCSB many years the 80´s. Before we became vegetarians, I´d say their chicken salad sandwiches were among the best you could even find anywhere! However, our absolute favorite meal then & now whenever we´re in town, is their brunch/breakfast items. Love, love their banana walnut pancakes w/special syrup. Also, love Eggs Lorraine (scrambled eggs w/cream cheese & baco bits). You have to try it to believe how good it is...if you think it sounds strange. Prices very reasonable, too! Also, the atmosphere & music is very relaxing. Ask to be on the side w/the higher ceiling. (It´s sunnier & a whole different feeling than the smaller side.) Hope they´ll be around for a long, long time. The ones in the Bay area closed, but they just never matched our ol´ favorite Goleta Good Earth. (it´s a franchise & far better run in S.B.)

Good, 6/27/2002

Healthy food. For example, the turkey in the turkey sandwich is freshly carved, not processed and prepackaged. Very nice setting-you wouldn´t know you were next to a big old car wash. They have lots of vegetarian stuff, but also lasagna, burgers--the usual variety of things, but done the "Good Earth" way.

Food is consistently good. Pleasant atmosphere. One of the best places in Goleta to go for a nice lunch.
