To the two people below... IV is a unique place with unique food tastes. There is so much amazing food to choose from, that merely having a place that is OPEN is not enough. We don't like chain restaurants, so forget it. On another note, Jerusalem Gardens was a really great place to eat. I am sad that it went out of business, because it was one of the only breakfast places around.

John, that's a great idea. My buddy lives in Newport Beach and there's a 24-hour donut shop there that sees a ton of late night business from post-party college kids. More than just donuts too, they have late night breakfast sandwiches and ham and cheese croissants (amazing at 2am!) among other items.... Maybe we should put our heads together and put this idea into play..haha!

For Sale, 3/25/2007

A tipster passed to me the news that Jerusalem Garden Cafe in Isla Vista is for sale. It is still open at this time. Now, if I had the will and the means to buy this place, I would open a 24-hour Spudnuts donut shop to compliment the 24-hour Freebirds World Burrito across the street. It would be a match made in heaven.

Very bad food, 3/4/2007

i am an expert in when it comes to authentic middle eastern food but this place needs some tips. the falefel plate I ordered was very bad. instead of the inside of it being brown & tan colored, it was GREEN!! it is never supposed to be pure green inside. also, the tabouli was horrible. it was merely parsley chopped up with nothing else. a proper tabouli will be finely chopped with cracked wheat, lemon, olive oil, salt and tomatos. this tabouli had none of those things.

Excellent food friendly service, 1/13/2007

Freshly prepared falafel and humus and appetizing shish-kabab dishes at reasonable prices.

Lotsa lamb for a good price, 11/7/2006

I went to Jersalem Garden Cafe for lunch with some friends. I had the lamb kebab. It was perfectly done, and there was tons of it! I also had the tzakiki and the hummus which were pretty good. The kebab also came with a vegetable kebab. Unfortunately, this place doesn't have much atmosphere (sorry, it is in IV), but the service and the food made up for it. It is definitely worth it for a good and fairly fast lunch or dinner.
