I was proud of the Timbers Back then, 5/16/2011

Today I was told that the Timbers is closed for good. I was involved in the Timbers ownership from 1987 to May of 2004.I closed the business so I could move on to other another career. Always hoping to see this place do well. My dining experience was terrible. Went for lunch on a raining day at 11:30am no soup, no fries, finally said you tell me what I can have she gave me a salad with 2 packets of ranch dressing. I may not have been perfect over the 17 years but I was proud of my business and that I had the greatest customers any restaurant could ask for. I miss you all. Maybe one day again i will bring the business back.

Best Mexican food in Goleta!, 7/5/2010

Have been looking for a great Mexican restaurant in Goleta for a really long time now. Not too long ago I heard people downtown talking about how The Timbers is now open and serving Mexican food. After hearing them talk about how great it was I decided to go with the family and try it out. To my surprise it was hands down the best restaurant in Goleta. Both food and service were top notch.

Well, I never knew Timbers was a restaurant but last time I went was on a night out and it has been transformed (or at least by night) as a club for dancing. So if you don't like Mexican music, this isn't the place for you.

Timber!, 5/18/2010

WOW! So, the once really great food, cozy cabin vibe left years ago and was the perfect place for lunch since it was quiet (empty) and had great steak sandwiches and fries. During the Winter they'd have a fire in the fireplace and I planned several business lunches there and even a Halloween Party once. A few years ago, after hearing they had reopened I stop in with my husband for dinner and the whole dining area was closed and the bar was closed and all that remained of the restaurant was the private party room. I noticed that there was some strange decor and when I opened the menu it was all Mexican food. We decided to stay and give it a try, and well it was the last time I dined at the Timbers. I remember the good old days and don't think I'll be going back for Mexican food anytime soon!!!

What's the deaI?, 5/16/2010

I drive by The Timbers every day and I've noticed that for the past several months that most of the restaurant is boarded up and the part that is open has a little sign that reads TACOS in the window??? and there is usually a taco truck in the parking lot! The neon sign is on but nobody's home, or are they? It's hardly the hopping, local place it used to be. How could they possibly stay open? It would be a great location for a place like the Nugget.

Ok food, a little pricey and slow, 8/18/2008

Probably better as a banquet place or a place you can sit with your friends for your whole lunch hour. Waitress a little slow, I paid for cheese & did not get cheese, asked for 1000 island and I think I got french. Food pretty good and big portions but pricey and food was not out very quick. Very historic atmosphere, skylight a little too bright. I would agree with redoing the parking lot, makes it seem dated.

Good place for lunch, 6/21/2008

Our party of 3 ate here for lunch and enjoyed it very much. I was a bit confused, expecting a Mexican menu like the last time I was here, but the American food is tasty and good. Fries could've been done a bit more, and they ran out of ketchup, but gave us ketchup packets and ranch dressing to make up for it -- I appreciated the fact that they tried, and cared to make our dining experience pleasant. Said the menu was going to change in another 2 weeks, so I'm not sure what to expect now. I wish they had a good sign, better entrance (other than driving across a gas station area) -- just better marking would really help. I would definitely go back again -- I love the look of the place. With a good salad bar with hot, fresh bread (like the old Jaspers in the Fairview area) and good American menu, it could be a real hit!

Worst service I have ever experienced., 2/21/2008
Reviewer: Tyler Brunnemer from Goleta, CA
The wait staff brought the food out one at a time. For a large group of eight this managed to take 20 minutes. Ideally you would think that using this method the food would be warm, on the contrary it was quite cold. The waitstaff needs to learn how to wait on tables, dove tail drink orders. After the meal was complete the table was cleared one plate at a time, then the check finally came. Making for a 2 hour lunch. This is completely absurd. Especially charging 18% for large parties for this privilege. Hopefully they will re-think there business.

Pretty good burgers- give it a try, 1/4/2008

My husband & I ordered a few burgers (1 veggie & 1 beef)at Timbers. They were pretty good & reasonably priced. The service was attentive & friendly. Quiet place given the night we dined there. We'll be back for sure so give this place a try.

Recently went to Eat here at 12 noon on a Sunday and they would not serve breakfast to us, as it was past noon. We were 1 of 2 tables with customers. Quality of the food was very good. All of us were pleased with our selections. The Wait staff was average. Its such a great building but so hidden. Needs more support I Hope it lasts. Good Luck !

Freshest food you can find, 12/23/2006
Reviewer: Chris from Goleta
How come no reviews here? The restaraunt is as pretty as the picture shows. The food is made FRESH and a lot of it is grown right in the back. Pick out your salad, sandwich, and desserts deli style - and if you don't save room for dessert, you should take some home. I know a lot of you don't get this far north this often - but don't miss this great experience! The NEW Timbers is NOTHING like the old Timbers we remember (from Delco days). This is run by a family and as of yet has no real sign. Don't forget they're here, they need (and deserve) our support!
