I miss the wonderful flavor of my childhood ice cream! The location and lack of advertising put them out of business.:( :( Very sad. The owner was a really nice man!

They had THE BEST soft-serve ice cream. I will truly miss them and their daily deals!

Why isn't this place always packed?, 8/27/2010

This has got to be the best value dessert place in SB/Goleta. The ice cream is excellent, it's insanely inexpensive, and the service is excellent. They have daily 2 for 1 specials that are great deals. Where else can you get 2 banana splits for $5.50?

If you want baskin Robbins or scoop ice cream go there- but if you know soft serve or frozen custard come to Carvel - the owners are friendly. You can get soft serve with a chocolate bonnet just like in new York great great yum!! The other reviewer may need some soft serve education. Oh and the prices are great. The vanilla soft delish

Wonderful place, check it out!, 9/19/2008

My son discovered this ice cream parlor in the Fairview Center about two years ago and we go there almost every week. The ice cream is really great, the prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is wonderful. They also have edible photograph cakes which are great for special occasions. The soft ice cream and the Carvel specialty products are particularly good, and families are welcome so check it out!

Wide variety of products, could have more scoop flavors, 9/4/2008

Different Carvel products throughout except only negative they were a little limited on ice cream scoop selections(not more than ten I think) so that could have been expanded(I guess I am used to a Baskins Robbins more). Single plain Cone I think was $2.50 so not sure if that is high or low compared to other places. I think only open after 3pm too. Try the RiteAid Thrify ice cream in the same shopping center for cheaper scoops. This place is big back East I believe, their packaged products might be a better bet than the scoop, I guess there is a soft serve cone that they are more famous for(and cheaper), I'll have to try that next time.

Ice Cream that is delicious and affordable, 2/12/2008

What planet is the reviewer on that said this was overprice? A cone at McConnells or Coldstone will cost you at least twice as much!!!! Quality service and locally owned too.

Amazing service, Atmosphere and Ice Cream., 9/4/2007

As I walked into this store, the lovely girl behind the counter greeted me and my friend very friendlyly. She offered us samples of any ice cream we asked for samples of. Told us interesting stories of the history of the company and how they made their ice cream, and was very informative on prices. I was worried that it would be over priced, but my friend and I were able to share a regular birthday cake and chocolate chunk in a chocolate and sprinkle dipped cone easily between each other. It was under 4 dollars easily. I wish I had had money to tip her. No complaints at all about this place! I recommend it to anyone looking for yummy ice cream with fun flavors.
