echo other reviews - great!

We tried the pork banh mi and an eggplant sandwich for lunch. Both were simply terrific. Their gluten free bread (extra cost) is very good...finally someone gets it right. Iced tea with acai. Service quick and friendly. Only downside is the tiny size of the place, off hours or take-away being obvious solutions.

Small but lovely spot. Small menu with items really done right - so fresh and delicious! Can't wait to go back :)

Best Sandwich in the World

I dined here yesterday for a late lunch with my husband (our second time) and had the duck croissant. The menu says: House-made Puff Pastry, Duck/Pork Sausage topped w/Kimchee & a Poached Egg. It is so, so, so much more than the sum of its parts. French/Korean/Arigato Sushi comes to mind. OMG. The textures, flavors, and pure stomach and mouth enjoyment are out of this world. Makes chasing umami one-dimensional by comparison. Husband had a beef sandwich with cheese and other things on it and was deeply satisfied and like me, did not offer any bites! Go here. It might change your idea of what is possible to do with food -- and do affordably.

I just had the most amazing sandwich of my life here. Everything was made to order and the flavors were transcendant. I will be back; every day if needed. I am happy to bus my own plates and share a table, and I haven't been this excited about food in Santa Barbara for years.

Most Amazing Food - Incredible Service

Best sandwiches in Santa Barbara! This is my first review but I thought the food was so good I had to note it. It's hard to find something unique and incredible and this is it. Only complaint: I have been there twice and it is so warm inside the restaurant I have taken my food to go.

Eclectic yummy food for a good price

As I don't frequent the State St. scene late at night enough to hit up Blue Owl at Zen Yai frequently, I was excited to see that Blue Owl now has a day time location. They are serving "brunch" type menu items all day long. I had a yummy crab melt on their homemade English muffin (perfectly crispy and chewy with great flavor), with a "fritatta" style egg and oyster mayo, heirloom tomatoes and some arugula. Also got a glass of their housemade lavender lemonade, it was amazing! Just the right amount of lavender gave the refreshing and not-too sweet lemonade a special taste. The Wake & Bake (waffle sandwich they torch to make a creme brulee coating on the waffle) and Salami Sandwich (actually made of chorizo)were being frequently ordered. They only had the owner taking orders and ringing people up, and one gal making all the food, so needless to say during Friday lunch hour there was a bit of a wait for your food to be prepared. I will definitely go back, maybe visit for Saturday brunch, as they also had some delicious looking housemade pastries. Other than staffing up, my main request is PLEASE offer the Thai Basil Cheeseburger from late night Blue Owl!!!

So glad I tried this little place on my lunch break. Great customer service (went through the menu with me, gave personal suggestions and was friendly) and delicious food (NOT your average ham & cheese sammie). Very reasonably priced for the quaility, as well. Highly suggest trying it out for yourself!!!

Really, truly good

Since all you can see if my first name and I can remain anonymous, I can safely admit this: I pigged out at this place. I ordered the salami sandwich and it was really tasty. Great bread, good quality meat and a really nice sauce. It was a good size too. Although it was a good size, I can eat a lot of food, so I went ahead and ordered the Wake N' Bacon sandwich directly afterwards. This sandwich is ridiculous. Bacon and eggs cooked perfectly inbetween two buttery, syrupy waffles.... my god. Everything was tasty, service was nice. It's a cool little spot to sit on a sunny afternoon. Will be back!

The food is great at both locations (like seriously good) and my boyfriend and I are very glad she has a place open for lunch. The food can take a little long for them to make but it's understandable since the place it just getting up and running.
