Occasional Disappointing Quality Control for an $8 Sandwich, 6/3/2011
Reviewer: Cameron from Santa Barbara, CA
If you want a reasonably priced "expensive" sandwich in Carpinteria this is the place is great... most of the time. I just ordered a full South Coast Turkey sandwich and it came with only a few onions and the amount of thinly sliced red bell peppers could fit on a 2"x2" yellow sticky note with room to spare. Also this isn't my first disappointment with the inconsistent quality of one of the sandwiches I've received, and I've frequented this place many, many times. It's just kind of a shame cause it's so easy to fix and the place is usually pretty good.

The food is awesome and the Paninis are a welcome addition. The BLTT is incredible and I have developed quite the addiction to it. You can get a fresh healthy salad or a hot cheesy tasty treat. It is a bit off the beaten path, but worth the trip. The staff is incredible and make you feel right at home. I would recommend this to anyone who eats. :) Yes that includes you.

convenient meeting spot between Ventura and SB, 11/3/2009

Great little deli. I discovered this by looking on Google maps for a restaurant that was easy access from the freeway to meet someone halfway between SB and Ventura. This spot worked perfectly. Very pleasant staff and a tasty lunch.

Carp's hidden gem!, 3/6/2009

I asked so many people about this stealth deli and no one seemed to know about it. I finally had to search it out one day and am SO glad I did. Got a cheesy veggie, which was to die for!!! It's awesome to have another deli option in Carp! Staff is super sweet too.

The Best Deli in Carp, Hands Down!, 10/30/2006
Reviewer: JS from Goleta
Carp is seriously lacking in quality sandwich options. Thankfully I discovered Pacific Coast Cafe and my lunchtime sandwich cravings can go answered. Anyone familiar with South Coast Deli will quickly realize the similarities, as this was originally the SC Deli, but has since sold, but the owners have kept many of the sammies. I have to admit the service is MUCH better than South Coast Deli. Always happy and friendly and you never feel like you are inconveniencing them, a typical feeling at the SC Deli Goleta, the service here is remarkably quicker and you are out the door with a tasty sandwich. They make it a point to learn your name and just provide stellar service. My only complaint, no Paninis! Too bad they don't offer these as they do in the SC Deli, but oh well. My favorites here are the Dar's Sky High, excellent and the Turkey with Bacon (add Avocado). Sure it's a little bit pricey? $5.95 a sandwich. The ingredients, taste, and service are WAY better than any other options in Carp. Your best bet for a good sandwich in Carp, Hands Down!

Pacific Coast Cafe is the BEST place in Carpinteria to get lunch; sandwiches, salads, drinks, snacks! They are always fast and friendly. I have recommended it to tons of people and they all go there regularly.

succulent and tasty, 6/4/2002

I just gobbled down the South Coast Turkey Sandy, it was most flavorful and delicious. This is what a sandwich should taste like.
