We walked in for lunch and the cashier was on her cell phone texting away, and away and away. I thought it would be interesting to do a little experiment. I looked at my watch, 12:11pm. She texted, head buried in her phone, probably checked apps, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat etc as we stood 5 feet away from her, her facing us, we facing her. What time did she notice us and put down her phone to take our order? After 12:14pm C'mon guys. You're service is usually 5 stars, crack down on this silliness. If staff is busy, we're fine waiting 1/2 hour. Cell phone addiction? Nope. P.S. Rebar Coffee is a great place. I like the creative artwork they do to our cappuccinos and lattes, but could we keep it quick? I'm down with an extra minute max, it's fun and we love art. We however, don't need to wait an extra 5 minutes while our drink gets cold for the barrista to break out his coffee foam art box and make our foam look like Starry Night or the Mona Lisa. Their breakfast options with great coffee are the best in town.

Will come back to SB just to go here!, 3/7/2014

Stumbled into this place by accident on a trip the day after they opened. It was the highlight of our trip! The owner made us customized cocktails and we had the best veggie burger either of us had ever had! We CANNOT wait to go back. If we lived closer we would be at American Ale every week!

Best Burger of my life!!!, 11/5/2013

I went here with my husband for dinner, and we both were blown away by the amazing drinks, delicious burgers, and super friendly staff. If you are down for bourbon, real beef, and garlicky fries, they fit the bill. And most of the burgers are $10! Awesome.

This place is going to have some staying power. The food was really really good. I tried the bean soup and their signature burger. I would highly recommend both. My food came out right away even though the kitchen is fairly small and the place was busy. Their beer selection is fantastic and absolutely the best in town right now. Anyone into the craft beer movement will want to stop by. The ambiance was something I really appreciated. A great place to have a drink and some food with friends in a relaxed atmosphere.

This was the first time I've tried American Ale and I will definitely go back. The burgers were really tasty (I shared the PB&J burger and their Southern BBQ burger), the craft beer selection was great, and the "American Mule" cocktail I tried was a strong pour and so so good! Servers were friendly and attentive- you order at the bar and they deliver to your table. Highly recommended!!
