New favorite Mexican
Reviewer: Charlotte from Goleta
Friday night at La Hacienda has a great Mariachi band playing, nice, patio. Did I give this common Mexican restaurant a 5 for food and service? You bet I did. Very friendly, knowledgable, expedient staff. Better service than at most high end restaurants. Our food was flawless. I had a fabulous shrimp dish and husband had steak Tapequena. Both meals had great flavor and heat. Perfect rice and beans, super fresh salad as well. They are clearly paying attention to details that can make a mediocre restaurant great. Love this place!

Amazing place!

We celebrated my birthday dinner here last week. It was amazing. The Queso fundido is a must. There were 8 in our party and everyone loved the food! We ordered everything from Chile Verde, Salmon, Chimichangas, Pozole, Enchiladas and Nachos... everything was great! Salsas are flavorful and addicting. The hand-made tortillas were perfect. The staff was attentive throughout the entire evening. Coming from someone that grew up with authentic Mexican dishes, this is absolutely a hidden gem in Goleta. This will certainly be a go-to for us for authentic Mexican food.

Surprisingly Great

A friend took me to lunch at La Hacienda recently and I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and delicious the food is. From the outside, the building and its location do not make me think a truly great restaurant is inside, but this is a hidden gem. I asked the server for some recommendations and I followed his advice to try the cochinita pibil. Wow! This dish was incredible. The other people at my table were equally pleased with their dishes. On top of all that, the waitstaff were incredibly attentive without being overbearing. I told a friend about my experience and she ended up going one night with about 10 people. She told me they had a wonderful experience, too, and thanked me for the recommendation. I will definitely return.

Great new place! Forget whatever used to be here...

I'm glad I tried Hacienda tonight, despite how bad rincon bohemio used to be. The salsas were very tasty but the Molcajete was amazing! The wait staff was really fun and easy going and some of the other menu items looked enticing too. This place is in the same league as Los Agaves and Paloma. They have unique menu choices, not just the standard tacos and enchiladas. I wish them luck and will be back soon!
