Group Dinner for 40 people
Reviewer: Angelo and Kay Castagnola from Santa Barbara, CA
After many years of dining at Shoreline Cafe with family and friends, we wanted to bring a group of 40 people to the restaurant for a "Taco Bar". Manager, Enrique Hernandez, was accommodating in every aspect of the planning. Our dinner was wonderful! The staff, especially Ulysses and Aristotle, catered to our every need, as they always do. A continuous flow of "all you can eat" salad, various kinds of grilled tacos, chips and salsa left our guests happy and talking about returning for another "Taco Bar".....

A Place for Friends from Out of Town
Reviewer: William E. from Chandler, Arizona
My daughter attended UCSB and my mother moved into Senior Living off State St in the early 2000's. Of course I needed to find a place where I could take the crew when I came into Santa Barbara for a visit. I think I found a gem in the Shoreline Beach Cafe in 1999. It became our must-go-to place for lunch or dinner for many years. There were a couple of others, but this location had special meaning. Food seemed to be prepared very well. It seemed reasonably priced. The only negative was at times the inexperienced servers. But Location, Location, Location always won out!

Not impressive
Reviewer: Carrie from Kansas City , mo
We were not impressed. The food was just ok and everything came out all at hard is it to bring chips and salsa out first? I gave a half a point on service because they did take our order and we did get our food, but after that our waitress disappeared. Her understudy never stopped to check on us and when we finally flagged her down we asked where our original waitress was, her response was simply "they were messing up so I sent them home". That's interesting. You might want to reassign some one to cover her tables for her and is that something you should be telling a patron. The food wasn't bad but it also wasn't great and it was way overpriced for what we got.

Great location and drinks, service needs a lift.

I love the locale and the view well can't say much more than wow. The service from our server was lacking. The hostess was great, other servers were great, our server, well she was not very friendly. Could do better with some training of staff or understanding that customers are the life blood of the restaurant.

Fantastic Labor Day Experience
Reviewer: Tara from Santa Barbara, CA
I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation to the staff at Shoreline! Yesterday, on a packed Labor Day weekend, I brought my son and a friend to have lunch. Although the restaurant was extremely busy and crowded, we were seated very quickly. Since the wait was much longer for a table on the sand, we opted for the patio. We were greeted right away by our server and our drink order and appetizers came out in perfect time and tasted delicious!!! One of the servers noticed that my son was getting a little squirmy, and since he was not close to the beach with the sand toys (that the restaurant actually provides) she found some sheets of paper and a pen (a hot commodity for servers) to entertain him. The food was incredible and the staff was upbeat, positive and extremely attentive for such a busy, hot day! The manager, Enrique, was fantastic as well! You can tell that he has a lot of respect for his staff, and in return, he gets wonderful, happy servers! Thanks for a great experience Shoreline!

Great Location, Food & Service
Reviewer: Jackie from Santa Clarita, CA
After reading the reviews I took my family to lunch over Memorial Day weekend on a Saturday. The weather was perfect. We had attentive service with attractive waitresses. The blackened ahi tuna was delicious. My husband couldn't say enough about the mango cutney that came with his fresh fish. We had a delightful day and then took a stroll along the harbor sea wall. We didn't feel rushed or like a bunch of tourists but rather like savvy natives.

Ahhh, so-o-o good. The best view in Santa Barbara!

Best joint in Santa Barbara. Fish is fabulous. View even better. The best!

Great place to go for beach casual
Reviewer: Glenn from Buellton
Agreeing with all the other good reviews this is the place to go to chill right on the beach with some great food. They have fresh catch options where they make a variety of things based on that fish and the halibut tacos I had were really good. This place really belongs in the seafood category too as most of the stuff is seafood here. Can eat behind glass or directly on beach with great views. Great for SBCC folk and parents visiting. Service was very nice.

We love this place!

Every table has an ocean view and the kids can play on the beach as you relax and watch the sun set.... But it's the food and service that keeps us coming back... Great Salmon dinner with real sticky rice... always fresh... linguine w/clams-salads, burritos, burgers... it's all good. Love the casual atmosphere. Enrique and gang go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and satisfied. Parking is always easy. Every other week we go in for our fix at Shoreline Cafe... We love you guys!

I go here alot. Because I live 5 minutes from it. Its always a great palce to relax and eat food! the food is amazing, and all the servers are very nice. I like how its by the beach. The food always makes me happy, because its not expensive, and u can get really good food for a good price. I always ride by bike down and just order to go, and it takes 7 minutes at most.

Love it!

We come from Canada every year and always come here to eat and hang out. The spicy Ahi dish, steak nacho's, shrimp rolls and fish tacos are some of our favorites. Also a fabulous happy hour menu and great breakfasts too! We love Santa Barbara and every trip for the last 5 years, Shoreline Cafe has been part of our visit. We've always had great food and great service here and would recommend it to anyone! It's the perfect spot for a spectacular view of the ocean and you'll often see the dolphins too. We always feel welcomed at Shoreline and can't wait to see the staff again next time!

Always a great experience

Just Started to go back to the Shoreline after a hiatus and have enjoyed each and every time I have been there. The location is the best, you can even get a table where you can stick your feet in the sand. The staff has always been friendly and attentive. The food has always been tasty and nicely presented. Great place to bring kids.
