Best Airport Burger, 5/2/2010
Reviewer: Jon from San Francisco, CA
I take 2-3 business trips a month and I have to say that the Overlook is one of my top 5 airport bars in the US. The Waterfront Cheeseburger is easily the best burger I've ever had in an airport, if not one of the best I've had period. Makes me wish I had more clients in Santa Barbara.

Pretty good food but very pricey, 1/8/2009

Since they cater to airport travelers in the boondocks of the Goleta Slough they don't have any competition so I can see why they would charge more. Club sandwich I had was fair and the fries were warm enough to eat though not piping hot. I asked for a rush lunch and they delivered it very quickly. Waitress was attentive except when I entered and exited. Nice view of the planes etc. Expect to pay $15-20 with tip for entree and a drink.

Cold food and poor service, 10/8/2008

I ordered a club sandwich which came with fries. 30 minutes later I asked for the food to go. They packaged it up in a to go container. The fries were cold and the sandwich was poor at best. I had eaten here before and it was great. What happened? It is hard to ruin a club sandwich and fries. I will not return.

Decent but Pricey, 5/19/2008

The food is decent for being an airport eatery. The prices are kinda steep. But again, it's an airport eatery and ALL airport restaurants are steep. Not sure why that is...??? Service could use some improving. Atmosphere isn't bad. You can watch planes land and take~off from the patio.

Oh please........ not 5 stars, 12/1/2007

The Overlook is the perfect place to kill some time with a Firestone Ale on tap and catch the part of the game before you catch your flight. The service is generally pretty good. The food is passable but nothing special. The menu is marked up because it's at the airport, but not outrageously so. Overall, compares favorably to most airport fare, but it's not anywhere near 5 stars.

a charming, cozy place to eat before you catch your flight, 3/19/2003

This is a must-stop at the Santa Barbara Airport, especially now that you are rarely served a meal on most flights. The decor is aviation themed, with lots of black and white pictures from the early days of aviation. And if you like, you can sit at a table out on the balcony and watch planes take off and land. They serve comfort food, American and Mexican dishes. The owners are so very friendly, the bartender was charming and the food was good and filling.

This is a GREAT restaurant!, 2/6/2003

I travel frequently, and speaking from years of airport experiences, this is a wonderful restaurant! It´s so great that I almost always opt to fly out of SBA instead of LAX if at all possible. The relaxing and friendly environment of this restaurant makes the hassle and added price of the commuter flight to LAX seem worth it. The food is delicious, the staff is very friendly (they really make you feel welcomed), and the prices are not at all high (like most airport restaurants usually are). I am very glad to know that this type of homestyle family restaurant still exists in Santa Barbara and has not been replaced by some fast food airport rip-off like many airports have! Keep on cookin´!
