I love it, 11/12/2015

Sad to see such venom in these reviews. Really, Sam is life that bad for you? You have my sympathy.. As for me, I always try to find a reason to stop and get a Stacky's burger and I always get decent food and service.

They really need to close, 12/20/2013

What was once a decent place is now a remnant of the past. Whether its the tired, incredibly dirty interior, or the horrible food, Stacky's is just plain terrible. The food is neither fresh nor delicious. It tastes like something you'd find in a cafeteria in some wayward college dorm... Sysco type of canned and processed everything. Heck, they cant even make a decent breakfast sandwich let a lone a good burger. (go across the street or to Tinkers) It would do Summerland and the rest of the area a great service if Stacky's simply closed. I know the oldtimers like this place but that's due to nostalgia, not taste. Avoid it and help accelerate the demise of a place 10 years past its expiration date.

Nice Campy Fish and Chips place, 4/28/2013
Reviewer: Glenn from Buellton
The theme is campy fish and chips. Food is not bad in fact everything I sampled was good including fish(three different varieties you can get for the fish n chips), pork pulled sandwich and burger. Only issue was it seemed expensive, never really saw the price of my drink, maybe that was it but you are in touristy Summerland. Good place to take kids for the themes too. Server was nice there. I can't really recommend over Summerland Beach Café but can over Tinker's. I have yet to try Nugget across the street but have been underwhelmed at their Goleta one. Maybe the Summerland(original one) is better.

Stay away from Stacky's, it's not good!, 9/2/2012

I read the reviews here that said the Fish and Chips were good. Let me tell you the were the WORST fish/chips I've ever had. I ordered the 3 piece Cod. Super greesy, and very small. Couldn't eat it. Next they couldn't even serve fresh made fries. The entire meal was CRAP. Never ever will I set foot in that CRAPPY place.

YUMMY! YUMMY! This is the place for food & service., 10/16/2011

The 'fish & chips' were delicious!!! Squeeze on the lemon, splash on the malt vinegar and your mouth will thank you...but beware-you'll be hungry for them again and again and if you don't live in the area you'll have a long trip over and over....this was our first time and we now have a problem! The inside is decorated very appropriately-fishing gear here and there and everywhere. The service was impeccable because the people who work there are caring and concerned about their clientele.

Cute Place to Take the Kids, 8/23/2010

Stacky's is a nice little restaurant for a quick bite. Can eat indoors or outside. Ordered the halibut sandwich which I found to be very good and tasty, but the choc malt was flat. Perhaps it was an off day for that? Spouse ordered a different kind of fish sandwich than mine and found it to be awful. Fun place to take the kids, cute outdoorsy whimsey decorated in fish nets, boat and oars. You get the picture.

Excellent!!!!, 4/10/2010

Very large menu! everything is very good so it makes it even harder to choose! Friendly service. Cold Beer. Feels like your in the ocean! layed back, Great food! Fast and has great ice cream! my favorite is the "Griller." which is onion, mushroom, bell-peppers, turkey and ham all grilled together on sourdough bread. Delicious! they can also substitute the bun/bread for a lettuce wrap for people who are gluten intollerant! my dads favorite is the "Rib Tips n Chips" also the "Fish n Chips" are very very good! ok priced. good location! lived in summerland for 13 years and still my favorite place to go!!

I love this place, 8/4/2009

I attended school in Santa Barbara from 1994 to 1997. That was when I discovered Stacky's. My friends and I frequented the place. I used to take family there when they came for a visit. Now I'm in L.A. but every time I visit S.B. I stop by Stacky's. Wow, I guess it's been 15 years now. The food is always consistent, always good. My favorite is the Top O' Valencia sandwich with an order of fries.

over it, 3/29/2009

I haven't had anything decent from this place except the breakfast burritos. The burritos aren't even that great. Pretty expensive. I guess this place is still in business because of the tourists. They seem to use a lot of costco premade food. The hamburgers are definitely from costco.

Tried the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and it was pretty good. Fun place for a fast lunch. Like the fries too.

perhaps they should try harder, 7/9/2008

Considering how long this place has been in business, I would think they could get a burger right. The burgers were over cooked and the cheese was wrong. When I informed them of this issue, they removed the melted cheese and replaced it with a cold slice. Again, back to the counter for a fix. By the time we got our burgers, they were destroyed with torn bread, sloppy toppings and the knowledge that these burgers went from kitchen to table and back 3 times. The final straw was the kid tossing our food on the table with a look of contempt on his face as if we were the problem, not their inability to take simple orders. With Tinkers and The Nugget right there, we will probably not go back.

Not so good, 3/22/2008

My wife and I ate there and she got the veggie wrap, which was mostly lettuce without the advertised avacado. I had the fish and chips, which were ok, but the cole slaw was goopy and liquidy with an odd flavor and the tartar sauce was tasteless. The service was great and they gave my wife a little cup of avacado when she pointed out the problem.

great sandwiches, 9/12/2007

The selection of sandwiches is excellent. Love the fish and chips. Great place overall, though it would be nice if the owner was a little more freindly with his customers. He always seems a bit grumpy.

Stacky´s is great, 11/20/2001
Reviewer: John Dickson from Goleta, CA
In 1985, a fellow by the name of Rich Stackhouse created a nice little breakfast & burger place in the sleepy town of Summerland, CA just south of Santa Barbara. What he didn't realize at the time was that his charming hideaway would become a huge hit with people up and down the state of California. Bottom line: Stacky's serves great tasting food. With a complete breakfast menu and the lunch list to die for (soups, burgers, seafood, chicken, hot dogs, beach blanket wraps and much more) Stacky's has grown a large following over the years. My personal favorite is the Tri-Tip Wrap, served with generous helpings of juicy, roasted tri-tip, lettuce, salsa, Jack cheese and Ranch dressing all in a large, hot flour tortilla. In 1994 Stacky's was bought out by Chris Kelsey who has continued to grow and improve the restaurant ever since. After a few years however, Rich Stackhouse started to miss working at his popular namesake and he bought back in. So the Stack is back and now Chris and Rich are co-owners. Sometimes just watching the clientele at Stacky's can be worth the visit. Because Stacky's is situated between the beach the nearby Santa Barbara Polo Club, it is not uncommon to see a shaggy surfer, surfboard in hand, standing in line next to an immaculate & proper Polo player coming off of a tournament. Add the usual celebrity or two from nearby Montecito and the picture becomes clear: Stacky's is happening.
