Good burger, 12/11/2008

I agree with the below reviews, it's a little overpriced. But the burgers are delicious and you basically build your own. No more "I'll have this but not that..." Service is on point, not overly friendly but professional. Sometimes they seem to hurry you along but that's usually because of the wait. I feel like this is a place everyone should try once.

$14 for burger, fries & shake??, 2/15/2008

Remember the good ol' days when Fat Burger was THE burger place to hit on State before a movie? Their burgers are tasty, fries are good and unbeatable location... But seemingly overnight the prices doubled!! The Habit is just a stone's throw away and much easier on the pocketbook. Too bad to see another local place cater to making a buck than keeping loyal customers.

Prices heavier than wallet., 10/8/2007

Had to try one for myself. The food was good although not worth the price for a fast food type burger. Glad they don't have one where I live as I would die broke.

Getting Expensive, 12/3/2006

When I lived in LA, I went to Fat Burger a lot and if it wasn't for the parking, I might have gone a lot more now that I live here. Last night, I was downtown and figured I'd stop by and get a quick Fat Burger to go because I was in a hurry. I was a little surprised at how the prices have gone up but I remembered how the burgers were good. All I wanted was the minimum and to get out of there quickly. Instead of asking me if I wanted cheese with my FatBurger and then asking me if I wanted fries, I'd really like it if they would have gotten my order correctly. He was more interested in having me order more than I originally wanted than to take the trouble to get my order right. It's time for another long break from the Fat Burger chain.

The best in town!, 10/11/2006

No wimpy burgers here. Can't go wrong with the 1/3 lb Fatburger, or if i'm feeling up to it a 1/2 lb Kingburger. And don't forget to add the egg! It's the only way to go, plus the oreo shake is the bomb! Great music and great environment. Customer for life.

Bring Money.... and lots of it, 6/13/2006

Local worker on State Street. On my burger days I switch between The Habit and Fat Burger. Both pretty good, not as good as In & Out, but just a few blocks away. Being how the food is about the same, I was shocked with Fat Burgers new menu and prices. A 1/4 lb cheese burger, fries, and a small coke.. $10.23 incl. tax. Yikes! Half the price at The Habit and every bit as good. Obvious price gouging on the tourists! This local won't be back at these "new" prices.

Great authentic burgers!, 6/2/2006

Fat Burger's name might turn some people away, but walk by the door and the smells will pull you right in! They have great burgers, shakes, and french fries, plus a cool 60's atmosphere and friendly service. Prices are good and food was delicious. Definitely try it out if you love classic American cuisine.

Best Fries in Town, 4/2/2006

I stop by here all the time just for the skinny fries. They are the crispiest most delicious french fries you'll find in town. The Fatburgers are also delicous.

Love the Burger........Hate the Service, 5/1/2005

I wonder if management ever wonders how many more they would sell if it didn´t take a minimum of 20-30 minutes. Not just Santa Barbara, but Ventura, as well. They are woefully understaffed and sadly, until that is remedied, they will never realize their full potential.

Their chili cheese fries are what heaven must be like.

The name says it all!, 2/13/2005

I just love this place. My wife and I were out cruinsing State St. and wandered in to grab some greasy, great food. We weren´t disappointed. The people watching is also ´interesting´ in a way that´s difficult to explain. Maybe colorful is a better adjective. Great fun in the city.
